Crappy thing about Galloway is that he produced multiple 1,000 yard seasons after leaving Dallas.
That was the time we should've started trading off anyone of value and done a complete rebuild. The pathetic stance of trying to win w/ no downtime was started at that time, and is a major reason why we haven't had much success in a long time. A simple analysis of that team easily showed it was going nowhere even w/ Aikman and Galloway. It was time for a rebuild. Not rebuilding meant it would be years until relevance.
Once again shows the value of having a real GM, one would could've accurately assessed the talent on that team.
By keeping Garrett another year, they're pretty much conceding this year.
He didn't learn.Exactly, Jones only compounded the sins of the past by making desperate, short-sighted moves while attempting to hang on for one last shot at glory. In doing so, he mortgaged both the present and the future. Hard lessons learned.
That's pretty much their attitude.Hey! What's one more?
He didn't learn.
That's pretty much their attitude.
Was that the year they signed 2 linebackers from the Titans Super Bowl team and they flamed out as well?
He didn't learn as far as pathetically trying to be a winning team every year.Oh, I think he has. Not quite as well or as quickly as I had hoped, but I think he has.
He did still make the WR Roy Williams mistake year later, but that's long since passed to.
And while he did have several years of "the old Wildcatter: happening in the second round of the draft, that has stopped for the past several years as well.
Given their draft history over the past several years, outside of a Taco Charlton move, their decisions have been excellent and have paid off handsomely in terms of player talent.
I see lessons learned. Not as soon as I wish they would, but learned nonetheless.
It was always a stupid thought that most NFL GM's knew better, that a player is good just because he played on a super bowl winning team. Was that the year they signed 2 linebackers from the Titans Super Bowl team and they flamed out as well?
It was referred to as the "Pickle Juice game". The temperatures were sweltering, and the Eagles looked prepared and fresh while the Cowboys weren't. Yet another example of why Coaching Matters in my book. One team had it in Andy Reid while the other didn't.
