The only guys who are dogging the Cowher Rumor are the same clowns who support and defend our every move. Anyone who would say no to Cowher and at the same time think its ok to keep JG is basically performing lip service or should have their head examined. Arguing for the sake of arguing and trying to stir the pot. Cowher makes JG look like an abused puppy...face it guys, if this happens, we will swap places with the skins next year. Wait, we'll probably do that anyways, but it will be even worse!!!

this would be a real bummer.

He will help fix their front office and he always surrounds himself with excellent coaches.

I would love to be hearing this about our team with cowher coming and a guy like keith butler coming to build the defense.

Oh well, I don't believe this for a second but it would really be a bummer if it happened. Cowher is a sound football guy who in time would make them very good I think.

Jerry is ultimately really cheap and does not respect the profession of coaching so we will get table scraps and then jerry will pick the players.

DC is about as close as he's going to get to his family in North Carolina without coaching the Panthers. I would not be surprised one bit if he ends up there. Our entire division and this conference are going to improve next year.

Good. More pressure on Jerry to do the right things...

It's to the point now where we can safely say we'd rather have Dan Snyder.

I know. I know. He's no prize but he's better than the one we're saddled with. At least he's kind of trying to win at all cost.

Not to defend Jerrah, but what's the difference between Mike Shanahan and Bill Cowher ?

Cowher has 1 sb win in `15 years , He also has one championship in 15 years. Does Garret get another 10 years?

The Chin I do not believe will ever coach again. He is retired and loves the morning show glamour life.

you seem confused. I'm not dogging Cowher as a coach. I do think he is overrated, but his track record speaks for itself. I'm not arguing Garrett is better

what I question is the notion that Snyder has gotten wiser or that a new head coach will fix our problems, or theirs.

Has anyone here ever coached football at a top level? Opinions are great, I am just asking if anyone is basing their opinions from their football knowledge at a high level (HS and Volunteer Coaching does not cont!) ) or just from a fan of the game/team?

and exactly what have those " real coaches " won in Deadskins land ?

Gibbs got them into the playoffs twice, which is more than JG has done. I'm not defending the Skins' record but only pointing out that Snyder has shown more of a willingness to hire proven coaches than Jones (in recent years).

RS fans don't want Cowher. Consensus is that he's overrated.

If true..that only shows how disconnected they are from reality.

The buddy-buddy relationship b/w Snyder and RGIII is going to be a problem.

I doubt Cowher reduces that situation enough to effectively run the team.

But if Cowher accepts the job..

..I can assure you..

Garrett is totally gone by mid-season if he loses to Cowher in the first game against Cowher.

After taking 2 games off the Skins this year..

Garrett is going to have to duplicate it next year and then some to save his skin.

The pressure mounts.

Chip Kelly, the Jints coach and Cowher all in the NFC East would just destroy any further improvement in our record for several years.

Gibbs was 30 - 34 in four years there too. Point is that as long as Snyder, and Jerrah for that matter, are the decision makers, nothing is going to change, no matter who they hired.

Sure. I see a bit of a difference between the two owners; Jerry is more of a football man and consequently involves himself more in this side of the operation. Snyder may be aware of his limitations in this matter, but still sticks his nose into it way too much.

IMO the difference is that Snyder is less public than Jerrah. Little Danny chooses to do his meddling behind the scene while Jerrah does his out front. Making announcements that the headcoach should be making and feeding the perception that he's the face of the franchise, as opposed to who it should be, ie: the headcoach.

yeah, that's part of it. But Danny has never claimed to know a hell of a lot about football whereas Jerry apparently invented the game...
