LVE has a whopping 4 yds totaled as Tackles for Loss this season as the MLB. That is not a good number as an indicator of being a run stopper or gap closer. Let's be real......many feel LVE had a decent/good game against the Texans......perhaps because of 14 tackles? Lost is the fact that the bar is low.......and that is the glaring indicator. LVE is slow, but he is our's......but let's calm down with the hoopla.

I think LVE has played very good ball this year, his number back it up. How others feel about him that is on him. He made several big plays in this past game

Every player in the League has looked bad on more than one play. You can find every player on the Cowboys D with some bad tape last Sunday. LVE has been solid and made some good plays this year.

Even decent players mess up on plays. Even good to great players can have a few bad plays per game.

Does Tyreek Hill suck as a receiver cause he couldn't spot the well thrown ball to him vs the Chargers that was a sure TD?

I would say a vast majority of the board has him as replaceable/average +/-. If you want to make a point, show the countless times he gets eaten by a blocker. But missing on one tackle, vs a wide receiver in open space is a bad example.

Did you watch THE REST of the game where he was making tackles others missed or right in the hole for no gain. Sure pick one play and you can make anyone look great or terrible. I mean, 3rd and 3 needing a stop since we're losing, and we had #11 on the sidelines, so he must suck...

100% spot on.

I was mentioning this a few days ago. It gets lost because of the outcome of the goal line stand but LVE’s inability to change direction with any urgency nearly cost us.

In fairness, he had a very good game overall but he was bailed out by his teammates corralling Moore down at the 2-yard line.

I don't think he'll be around starting for the team. His position will more than likely be addressed this off season and his age is coming into play along with his past neck injury. and why? He is a FA and like many FA will likely get offers for others. Cowboys have some young guys in house who will take that spot. But LVE play has been good for the Cowboys this season.

No, it’s not a stretch but I’m laughing because you’re seemingly coming to LVE’s defense, but then effectively damning him with faint praise (“he’s been fairly decent!”)

I think he’s likely gone after the season too. Ironically, I think he had his best game overall last week. I do think he’s a middling NFL linebacker at best. Folks are harping on the OP about “one play,” as if there aren’t other examples of poor play by LVE throughout the season. We need more from the position for sure.

Numbers game or not, it's concerning he's been inactive more times than not. I know we need guys for special teams, but that's another concern that he can't even crack that lineup as a backup LB over Luke Gifford.

I agree Clark should be fine taking over as one LB, but think they need to dip again into the draft for more competition for the #2 LB spot.

I agree about Cox, I think he needs to bulk up at bit he is 233, and that is small for MLB.
