Tony Romo is not the Savior. He doesn't have to be. He IS however the NFL's top rated QB from a year ago. I'm not rying to be an ******, really I AM NOT. but is anyone even watching the standings while Tony and DEZ have been out??? Giants 4-4 Eagles and the Commanders 3-4 Dallas 2-5. One game to make up. Another thing does anyone realize that should we win Sunday we will be 3-1 in the division???? 3-5 and heading to Tampa for our last game without Tony??? I know watching this team lose is hard to take but like it or not, there's alot of football yet to be played.

Tony threw TD passes to Escobar and Witten in last year's Seattle game in their house and we put up 30 points on them. Murray had a rushing TD and Bailey had 3 FGs. I think there is every reason to believe we would have won this game with Tony at QB.

Tony also calls plays, Cassel and Weeden don't.

Have you seen Cassel or Weeden play the chess game at the line that Romo does?

There are a lot of blame games that just don't conclude with these two backups aren't able to carry Romo's jock.

Show me where I blamed Weeden and Cassel for the losses. My point was that it is obvious that neither can read defenses like Romo. That is a fact.

Romo can't save the season unless he has some help before he comes back. You can't really expect this team to win more than 5 of the last 7 games.

Or, as was already stated, both carry stats that leave no comparison in the neighborhood presently associated with Tony Romo...hello, anyone home?

I don't think that seeing receivers are their problem, for a start point.

Why are some people in this thread capitalizing savior, and even acting slightly offended that the word is being used? Those of you doing it do realize that it's not a Jesus reference, right? It's just a word meaning "someone who saves something or someone from danger, harm, failure, etc."

If Romo comes back and saves this team from failure he's most definitely the savior of the season.

Great post - and watch out for that bolt of lightning coming out of the sky lol.

When the Cowboys finish 11-5, you Romo doubting idiots are going to feel pretty stupid as well. We can beat the iggles and bucs and then the savior returns!

It's hard to "expect" them to do it, I mean it's never easy... But they did go 6-1 to finish last season, and that run started right after losing 2 in a row (one without Romo) and being overtaken for the division lead by the Eagles.

Put a name on it then... "Some people"? I saw where one person in thread capitalized the word savior, and perhaps it was a mistake... The only person I see getting offended or openly invoking religious context into this is you... Perhaps the problem is that you're a little "Christian-phobic"...

This coaching with Romo, puts up 300 passing yards and 24+ points a game.

This coaching with Cassell or Weeden, get under 200 passing yards and under 20 points a game.

Now, where's the problem?

It's still coaching. You just answered your own question; without Romo these coaches are nothing.

Oh this board is painful to be on when the team is losing. Its just so many complaints without anyone actually facing the reality of the situation. There is not to many teams who can lost their three best offensive players in a season, and still win consistently. If the Pats lost Brady and Gronk, they would not be 7 - 0, the Broncos without Peyton and Thomas wouldn't be undefeated, Green Bay without Aaron Rodgers would not be 6 - 1, ect.. . You can not win consistently without good - great players. Especially Qb's. All this whining. Jimmie Johnson couldn't make our QB's not suck. We could resurrect Tom Landry and he could not make these bums good QB's.

There were 2, and BrainPaint said that it was "idiotic" but he'd "let it be." Let what be? If someone said "Those who think Romo is going to save the season" do you think anyone would refer to that as idiotic? I seriously doubt it, since he's probably the only thing that's going to save our season. So it appears that there may be as many as 2 people in the few replies that this thread got who misunderstood the use of the term. I clarified so others don't make the mistake. I was far from offended, but thanks for your input.

I say we are 6-1 with Andy Dalton right now

7-0 with Romo

I think Dalton would throw a few picks and lose us the Patriots game where Romo would have won

What makes you think we're going to beat the Eagles and Bucks?

Brady and Romo would both make our offense look better. Ours QBs have been putrid.

You are right.

But the problem is to me that NO quality QB will come to Dallas as long as we have Romo.

So there is the conundrum.

It's a deadend.

So now what?

I hope with our draft pick which should be a top 3 this year we finally take the plunge and draft a QB.

It's the only chance for this team going forward.
