this goes to show the offensive system putrid. the game planning is horrible, the play calling is lacking. unfortunately our system isnt designed to put our players in a good position to be successful. romo has been making up for all of this. unlike new england, you plug a back up in and still get 10+ wins.
Agree, that says it compactly.
I think last year we were still the 8-8 team, we just played the afcs and got 4 wins out of that, and surprised teams early on with the run game.
We had murray, and that led to a 6 game win streak, so they had a good year, but still struggled in playoffs, playing the better teams.
At that point we looked like the 8-8 team, not a 12-4 team.

Then they let murray, harris ,and durant go, and those 3 were key players in the 12-4 year. Mainly Murray, but so many say he wasnt worth the $
So now here we are still shopping for RB's.
McF has looked good , but he cant or may not hold up as Murray did.
We are headed for 8-8 again or worse, and plenty of excuses for losing 5-7 games in a row.

Thing is all JG had to do is win 2-3 of this 7 to have a good chance, but so far has not won 1.

I think Tony will maybe go 5-2, those who think he can win 7 in a row are not being realistic.

The putrid JG system, and playbook affect tony too, not as much as our bkups but it does make it hard for tony too.

Then factor in that Dez is not the same Dez as last year, and is a wildcard, he may do good, and he may not.

I have been seeing a lack of effort and enthusiasm on the part of the O players, and they appear to have given up.
They are just going thru the motions.

So I would not want to be the bkup qb for dallas the past few games, too many things are working against them.

I looked at the kellen moore detroit videos, and he should have taken over after weeden (after Atlanta game), if they had played him , I think we would have won some
games, guy can pass and make quick decisions.
I dont know if it is JG or jones boys deciding who plays QB, I have a feeling it is the jones. and they just left the best QB on the bench .

I don't know, we didn't look too good in the first 2 games either this year.....Romo will be an improvement but rusty to begin with by the time he comes around it may be too late.

Now, now... you know he is doing mental reps. lol

I remember the old dallasmorning news forum where some guy loved to pimp Hutchinson as some kind of God QB

Well I remember one thing about that time period, Chad had no chance, as He was sometimes sacked as he was still backing up !
Rarely did he have time to set much less look, and no real talent on the team, no run game, but the worst was no protection
for the qb.
Parcells fixed that by keeping in extra blockers TE or RB till he got some better players.

Chad or some of those other qb's would have loved to have the OL we have now.

True, which shows it is the scheme and playbook that is the problem.
Also Tony did not have the effective run game we have had the last 2 games.

Our passing scheme is flawed, and the run game and tony will mask that, but the root of the problem is our
passing game is archaic and flawed, and JG wont change it.

I remember that Chad was slow in his reads and slow in his throwing motion. He was horrible, plain and simple. Parcells got here and promptly moved him to the bench before eventually booting his but out of Dallas. The biggest thing I remember about Chad Hutchinson is that Quincy Carter was better than him when he was stoned out of his gourd - that should tell you all you need to know about Hutch.

Dark, dark times.

You've spewed a plethora of ridiculous hot takes in your brief run here, but this is the biggest load of crap I've seen on here.

I remember pulling hard for Quincy because of how bad Chad was. In the end I now realized both sucked and weren't going to take us anywhere. Those were the dark years.

How many times in Tony's prime has his defense held the other team to 13 points in back to back weeks while also sporting an elite offensive line?

This team is 15-5 over the last 20 games Romo has played.

This is a championship roster.

Shame.

This is by far the best defense we've had with Romo. Last year we started 6-1 and ended 5-0 before our loss in GB. Mind you that was without a pass rush. It wouldn't surprise me if we ran the table once Romo comes back. Although I wouldn't mind if running the table began this Sunday.

I'm just curious to know how many of you there are who point to the 8-8 seasons as being the result of Tony lacking a real supporting cast, and "He can't do it all on his own, this is a team game". I think no fan can doubt at this point, that this has been the main contributor to Tony's lack of post-season successes throughout his career, yet, now some of you are coming along and saying "All we need is Tony back", "He is the engine that makes the car run". Nah, this team needed to step up and help Tony out, and produce a few wins in his absence. It is a team game, always has been and always will be. Tom Brady would struggle with these bunch of goofballs. Tony dissevers hella of allota respect, because he has truly carried this team all these years, and nothing has made that more poignant, then last night's game.

Point I'm making, is that the team as a whole just isn't well coached or something, and they would've still found creative ways to lose, even with Romo in the lineup.

What you are forgetting is we had and opportunity to win every game besides New England with PISS POOR QB play. Now take into account no Dez, which hurts Williams and Beasley. Then add in Hardy, McClain, Gregory, Crawford, and the games that Lee left and the D fell apart. Dez, Romo, Lee, Hardy (pro bowlers talent/pro bowlers) Gregory, Mclain previous play makers. No doubt in my mind we are 6 and 1 /5 and 2 with Romo.
