Who here knows the medical status of one Tim Couch? If he has mended, shouldn't he be considered? We could definitely get him on the cheap. A former # 1 overall who never really could flourish elsewhere. A fresh start in Valley Ranch may be just what the doctor ordered for this guy.
Let's have some discussion on this topic. Couch could be a diamond in the rough as far as a veteran back up QB.
Thoughts?

Great idea brother. If Couch is healthy, I think he'd be a great pickup as our backup. If he's still having issues, I say we pass.

Tim Couch is still alive?

Id rather bring in Drew Henson again, and you know how much I dislike him.

Tim Couch has started and won games in the NFL. You're not going to get Tom Brady as your backup!

Probably not the right guy, but you're in the neighborhood.

We should be looking for a guy similar.

Perhaps a trade with Miami for Harrington? How about Carr? Plummer? Heck, even Vinny?

Excellent point brother. People on this board must set realistic expectations when it comes to a veteran back up. I say Couch is worth a look if his medical issues are behind him.

Hostile, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks

Thanks for the update. Can you provide a link or any specifics? Thanks

Only that every team he has worked out for hasn't signed him so that tells me he's done.

It's from Wikipedia, so consider the source...

After undergoing shoulder surgery in February 2005, Couch auditioned for the Chicago Bears midway through the 2005 season and the Cincinnati Bengals in December 2005. The Bears noticed his arm was not nearly back to NFL shape during their workout and subsequently did not sign him. The Bengals did not pursue Couch, although Jon Kitna was not resigned after his contract expired in early 2006. Couch participated in tryouts with the Tennessee Titans as late as January 2006. He has also been to work outs with the Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Houston Texans. All three teams have stated that despite good workouts, they are not interested in pursuing him. However, Tim Couch is already counted out for the 06-07 season, as he has had shoulder surgery again in late June of 2006[4]. It will be at least until the 07-08 NFL season before Couch can attempt another comeback.

Okay, so much for that idea. Thanks for the scoop Hostile.

So how many of these, I think we should sign (insert name of a has-been, injured, lazy, or drug-addicted qb) posts are we going to create?

Guess Couch will be on the couch for a while.........

Yes....I think he will be on the couch for a LONG time...except for those times when he gets up to use the occasional tissue to wipe his tears...
