Thoughts on NFC East?

How does everyone feel about our standing and our rivals right now?

I'm really not sure what to make of any team right now (including us). We've had some extreme ups and downs, from the worst game of Romo's career against SF, to the most efficient game of the Garrett era against Tenn, to a horrible showing followed by the biggest comeback in franchise history against STL.

Then you look at Philly. Started the season against Jax worse than we started against Tenn only to have a dominant second half, then had an impressive win over a Colts team who is better than their record suggests, then had an epic division battle and squeaked out a win against Washington. They're 3-0 at the moment but they've definitely looked beatable, and Foles looks like he's come back down to Earth.

Then you have Washington. They looked awful against a Texans team who got manhandled by the Giants, but they looked great against a Jaguars team who scared Philly. Then they had the epic game against Philly where they barely lost. And just last night they got embarrassed by the Giants (which I'll get to next). It looked like the RGIII injury would allow Cousins to make this team a legit contender, but Cousins looked so bad against NY. Was it a fluke?

Finally, you have a Giants team who most experts and fans thought would be battling for the 1st overall pick in the 2015 draft. Well, they're 2-2 and coming off an impressive win over Washington. They started the season how we expected getting destroyed by a mediocre Lions team, then they lost to a very good Arizona team, but then they went on to win 2 straight, handling a Texans team that was 2-0 at the time, and then destroying Washington last night.

So, can anyone make anything out of any of this? Giants = 2 blowout wins and 2 blowout losses, Philly = 3-0 but not an impressive win yet (maybe against Indy), Dallas = ups and downs, and Washington = looking awful with their only win being a 41-10 annihiliation of the Jaguars.

Anyone care to decipher this?

This is the definition of parity. Dependent on who is healthy and who has had a better practice and who features the most talent you can walk away from some games feeling like you just saw two heavy weight championship caliber fighters duking it out for a belt and walk away from other games feeling like you just witnessed a brawl on the short bus. Unfortunately, it has been too much of the latter for the Cowboys for a long, long time. But this year, I will say the lack of penalties the Cowboys have been called for has been very encouraging. So at least we are seeing some progress.

I don't see Washington competing for the division, but all this "lol Washington" stuff is a little silly. Kirk Cousins looks good so far (last night not withstanding) and will only get better as the year goes on, and good QBs typically torch our defense, so they'll worry me in both games we play against them.

The Eagles have been down 10+ points in every game they have played. The Colts refs giftwrapped that game for them.

With that being said I am not impressed with any team in the division. We can win it.

fixed it for ya

Philly is easily put atop of the NFC East until Dallas proves otherwise.

Dallas is the 2nd best team, I don't think anyone can logically say different (I remember Calvin Watkins last week saying PHI/Skins are easily #1/#2 ahead of Dallas).

Giants are 2-2 right now, and they looked good on offense, but Eli is possibly the worst QB in the division so the wheels should fall off with his QB play.

Commanders will be tough to beat IF they're able to have solid QB play by Cousins, he's had 2 great games with 1 giant stinker so far.

Division will come down to the same scenario as last year, but with NYG and WAS flipped in the standings. Do we beat PHI for the division title, or will our chances be intercepted?

I've been hating on this Cowboys team since Lee went down. No confidence in them at all but if they can get a win over the Saints it will be very telling to the type of team they are now.

I had the Giants winning the division at the start. I figured teams would catch up to Chip Kelly. I'm really not impressed but they keep winning. So until that changes, they are the team to beat.

Overall it's still a pretty bad division.

Curious, what makes you put NYG ahead of Dallas? Do you think their offense is better? Coaching? Their offense did look good against WAS, but I think that's a mirage.

Because he'll hate on the boys even if it defies all reason.

At least it shows dedication.

Looks to me like Eli is getting comfortable in the offense, made some really good throws. Too bad we didn't play them early. Plus as I said before, leave it to Tom to make chicken salad out of chicken stuff.

Speaking of the NFC East... where are all of our Washington Fan members? I haven't seen them around today much.

You can go to extremeskins for a few good laughs. For the most part, their fans pretty much threw in the towel for the season after last night.
