1) Romo puts a smile on my face. He made some huge plays escaping and avoiding the rush.

2) The OL played really well.

3) Oliver Hoyte is the best blocker I have seen on the Cowboys since Moose.

4) Crayton played really well but the guy better stop one arming when he gets into a pile. Put two arms on the damn ball.

5) Hurd is for real and made an unbelievable catch behind him and was robbed on the TD. Where is K-Mart now  ?

6) I was proud of TO today. He started slow with some mistakes but stepped up to redeem himself. He also did not celebrate after the TD.

7) TNew continues to play lights out.

8) Henry is the absolute BIGGEST weakness on our defense. I hope BP replaces him and puts AG or JR on Wayne. I hope Burnett plays alot against the Colts specifically on their TE.

9) I want Watkins in the game full time because Keith is not very good in space.

10) Another great game from Witten and he needs to teach Crayton how to cover up the damn ball.

C'mon, with nobody else to pick on, Henry is the next target? He was up against an AllPro for crying out loud. What did he give up other than a perfectly thrown pass? He excelled against most runs to his side. He caused that first pick to Watkins with outstanding coverage. I think you're being a little ticky tack.

Watch the game again and tell me which side of the field the passes were completed on!

Henry got owned.

Hoyte is not a better blocker then Jamar Martin.

He's just A LOT more versatile and can actually move laterally.

you cant blame it all on him

we have absolutely no pass rush to speak of...we might be the worst pass rushing team in football, bar none

our DB's cant cover forever, and thats pretty much what they have to do most plays

Henry did NOT get "owned". He gave up a couple of plays, but that does not mean he got "owned". He played well, not great, but solid.

Actually, David, I was surprised by our pass rush today (before Ellis went down). We were getting a good rush on Leinart, and consistently (again, until Ellis went down).

No team gets great pressure EVERY play (especially the cowboys), but they were solid today... until Ellis got hurt.

Jamar never cleared holes like Hoyte has.

I have no intention of watching it again, so will take your word for it

I just dont recall him getting knocked down much and it seemed like most plays he could just stand back there as long as he wanted

losing Ellis is gonna be a huge loss for us

This is a good point but I also think that we need to switch our SS and FS up. Instead of having the weakest players on the same side of the field. With Ellis out we will be faster and I am curious if we start getting creative in the blitz.

Sorry, but that's being simple minded.

What kind of OL did we have when Martin was here?

Not saying Martin was a better player, just a better blocker. That's not even debatable.

Martin couldn't play STs though. Hoyte could also play LB and have a lot better lateral movement then Martin.

I was disappointed in Martin's play. Then again, not much left of the 2002 draft.

I was expecting a bruiser. Not sure why things didn't pan out for him.

and that's a fact......Pressure on the QB is a CBs best friend.

I can show you simple minded by saying that Jamar was certainly better and that's why we cut him. Regardless of the team and players Hoyte is a far superior blocker. He is bigger, faster, and knows how to hit and drive through the guy. He is also great in space something that Jamar sucked in. Would you agree to a more complete FB? :)

Rack, wouldn't having more lateral movement skills make you a better blocker anyways? since there are other blocks you have to make, that might not be in a straight-line

Jamar was a better blocker. He got cut cuz FBs need to do more then just run straight ahead and block. And that's all Martin could do.

Depends on the type of block. Lateral movement will help you with moving targets, but in the hole, doesn't do much. In the hole, Martin was an excellent blocker. Again, that's all he could do though. And nowadays, you have to be more versatile if you're a FB.

Guess you didn't read my last post?

Anyone with any solid amount of football knowledge can see that Hoyte is a solid blocker, but he isn't as good as Martin was. He's A LOT more versatile though.

Seriously, the guy is just learning the position. He may end up a great blocker, but he's not there yet.

But we won and the feely good posts are flyin' so let's call Hoyte the next Moose and be done with it.
