Thoughts on Throw-Backs

I hate the NFL's uniform policy ... in regards to both the throwbacks and the way they mandate that the coaches dress.

It's all about money.

The throwbacks have run their course. Maybe one game every other year or something. This back-to-back weeks is a joke. Get rid of them.

And making the coaches wear the crappy sweatshirts and warm-up pants is a fricking joke when suits and ties aren't allowed.

I like the NFL less and less every year.

I hate throw-backs. The unis are distracting ... i’d love to focus on a football game not on hideous socks.

Cowboys throw-backs ... ugly. I hate the plain star on the helmet and the 10 stars all over the unis. Looks tacky ... stop it already. Not the 60’s anymore for a reason.

I love the Cowboy throwbacks. Maybe my favorite sports uni. Clean and classic. Love the solid blue star on the helmet.

What I hate are the new-fangled football uniforms/jerseys at all levels that started with the Broncos. All the random lines and trims..like the Clemson jerseys that looked like some sort of tuxedo.

Worst Cowboy jersey is the home jersey. I wish they'd get rid of the black outline on the arm stripes, and make the blue navy as it is on the rest of the uni and the other jerseys..so that they actually match..hmm.

Good eye and suggestion. I like their practice jersey sleeves. No clue why the home jersey has two different blues.

Throw backs don't bother me, it adds a little variety.

I don't think some people realize how strong an influence the Dallas Cowboy uniform had on Dallas becoming "America's Team".

I truly believe the Dallas Cowboys would NOT be America's Team today if Tex had stayed with the unis of the early 60's.

Tex hit pure gold when he redesigned the unis and the helmets to the blue and grey/silver combo. The Dallas Cowboys became the NY Yankees of the NFL.

That helmet is pure magic on TV and I have no doubt that the uniform change along with Captain America is what made the Dallas Cowboys America's team.

Why anyone would want to go back to the white helmets with the navy blue star and white unis is beyond me.

Whatever, I have no problem with the throwbacks. Any Jersey the Cowboys have ever worn is fine with me. I have no problem with the double stars of 1994. However, there were actually two versions of the double star jersey worn in 1994. One against Detroit and the ones we wore the rest of the year.

I do agree it gets a little tiring seeing teams wearing them every other game. Maybe a few times a season and that should be it. I do like the variety though. I wish they would break out the road double stars from 1994-1995 again. Although the last time we wore those I believe was the infamous 4th and 1 game in Philly, where Barry tried to get all Bill Belicheck in his own end.

I still don't know why the NFL just doesn't have a deal with a suit maker. It would solve the problem real quick.

wow...I didn't know that we wore those.

We should have worn them against KC, in my opinion, since we were the road team.

I like the classic look of the Cowboys 60's uniforms...every team should have at least one week a season where they wear throwback uniforms. Keep the legacy of the game intact and reinforce the history of the NFL.

Those look pretty gross with the silver helmet, though:laugh2:

I love the throwbacks. Some teams should stay with them (TB, Rams, Cowboys). I've always preferred the simplicity of the white helmets, plus it reminds me of why I fell in love with the team.

Can you imagine Coach Landry without a suit or hat???????

I wouldn't want the Cowboys to get away from the silver, but I like the throwbacks and would like to see them about twice a season. And fix the home white jersey.
