Redzone is not broken. AS long as we get our 3 pro bowl lineman back or at least two I beleive that will be proven. MM is a much better playcaller and OC than Moore.

I also predicted a loss. When did you? I thought i was the only one.
During the poll that Reality sent out. Just looked at like the more desperate team in Arizona would win.

Also took into account the injuries with Dallas.

Injury to Tyron was late in the week, probably didn't want to throw him out there not practicing at the position since last season. 3 weeks in, our OL depth is really getting tested. Let's hope these starters return as the schedule is going to get harder.
I was referring to Tyler ,, No# 73 .....,.. not Tyron.

Tyler is only now functional enuff to play at LG again.. maybe it would create a greater strain and risk at re-aggravation his hammy again to put him at LT again.

Parcells won a Super Bowl because the Bills missed a field goal. Who gives a **** what he said. See Bobby Carpenter.
Parcells won a SB in 1986 with one of the best defenses of all-time. He won his 2nd SB against Buffalo, one of the best offenses of all-time 20-19

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
-I would of started Tyler at LT and Edoka at LG. Edoka did really struggle early on, but got better as the game progressed.
-Defense was a total disaster in the 1st half, they couldn't stop the bleeding what so ever. Didn't generate much pressure at all. Teams are going to force the Cowboys to stop the run or this will continue.
-Gilmore is a good #2 corner at this stage, but will struggle to deal with speed.
-Gannon who comes from the Eagles knows the Cowboys well, take away the big passing plays and they are easier to defend. Teams will continue to play the Cowboys this way.
Yes I thought Tyler would be the LT anytime Tyron does not play.

This defense is at it's best against the pass from rushing the passer and creating turnovers. Teams who been able to run the football, have had the most success.
Being able to run is irrelevant. You can only focus on the run game if you have a lead.

Dallas' defense is built to play with a lead, which is why the way they've played offense this year is completely stupid.

Watched the Patriots yesterday, similar team to the Jets, but are better offensively. They are going to try to run the football and attack the middle of the field with their good receiving TE's. Defensively are good, but a lot has to do with their scheme. You can bet that Lamb will be schemed out next week.
And the Pats will get away with scheming Lamb out becuz we have done squat to get speedy Brandin Cooks involved
or schemed.

- It's ways you can scheme-design and move defensive coverages around to gain mismatches, and it doesn't seem like
these coaches know how to do that.

- Ironic that OC Brian Schottenhemeir believed in taking various vertical and deep shots in Seattle,
but with McCarthy- Grudennow calling the shots in his own offense ...?

- What if every NFL team we face blue-prints this Cards game and forces a zone shell vs Dak ?
Is this gonna be dink n dunk on an every game basis ?

-We did not acquire Brandin Cooks to keep being a dink n dunk offense ?

Think the majority of Cowboy Nation and even the players started reading the press clippings how good they are. They haven't accomplished anything thus far, yesterday's loss was a big piece of humble pie. 1 loss isn't a season ender, but it showed several weaknesses this team has and needs to work on.

Offense

-Thought the make shift OL played generally well. Edoka appeared to struggle the most, especially in the 1st half.
-Gannon comes from the Fangio coaching tree, he was daring the Cowboys to beat them underneath or run the football against light boxes. Cowboys had success taking what was given throughout the game. Did hit a couple of big plays.
-Cardinals had great success defending us in the red zone, this has been a problem this entire season, where this team was #1 last year. Thought both fade routes were penalties, but you cannot rely on the refs to bail you out. Why was the Cowboys running the football so much late? They were given that up and playing extra men in coverage. Playcalling was bad, so was the execution. Coaches need to figure out this fast or they will struggle to beat any team.
-Nice to see Gallup having a strong game. He was the offensive star of the day and looked like his pre-injury self.
-I believe Pollard had his 1st 100 rushing yard game, Dowdle continues to impress. Wonder why we didn't see much of Duece or Turpin, both could of been weapons down in the red zone due to their quickness.
-Penalties are drive killers, especially in the red zone. They get a mulligan this week, due to the make shift line, but it is something to watch.

Defense

-Their run defense reared it's ugly head from prior seasons. Arizona was running directly at Parsons with great success. Thought the entire safety group had an awful day: Wilson over aggressiveness caused the long QB run, Kearse takes a bad angle that led to the long WR run for TD. Bell seemed to get caught up in the trash. Lve has issues with misdirection. Players weren't flying to the football at all. After saying all this, it was corrected in the 2nd half. Run defense is all about being disipline and playing with effort, neither was there in the 1st half.
-Really struggles getting off the field on third downs, the Cardinals scored on every single drive in the first half, that will get you beat by any team in this league. So many penalties extended drives, pass rush was non-existent against an average line, defensive turnovers never happened.
-Thought Bland played ok, outside of the PI early on. Gilmore had his struggles against speed on the outside.
-Lack of communication was a big issue throughout the day. Cannot give up so many chunk plays due to blown assignments.

Special Teams

-Didn't see where the offsides occurred on the FG attempt, but it extended a drive.
-Huge penalty on Turpin's punt return.
The Cardinals had a real quarterback.
The Cowboys didn't.
The Cardinals are NOT a weak team. Getting rid of what they had in camp and adding Joshua Dobbs a week before the season started changed their fates. It took a coouple of weeks for him to get used to their offense, but Joshua Dobbs is the real deal.
The Cowboys should take notice.

That’s how you beat this type of scheme, take all the underneath passes and run the football against light boxes. Force teams to get out of that shell coverage. We are going to see both the 49ers and Eagles play a similar scheme as will Miami who had Fangio

Defence wasn't actually bad.. it was just not great. It was struggling to cover the loss of one of its prime movers. It still has issues with a strong, committed run game. Our defence is built for turnovers.. and that means it is hyper aggressive.. some games that will see it get burned a couple of times.

That is why this loss is on the offence.. the offence looked mediocre against Giants but put up 40.. on the back of 2 special team/D TDs.. and 4 short fields.. and a demoralised opponent. Against the Jets we could settle for field goals and it didn't hurt us because the D was dominant.

Yesterday.. the D wasn't dominant.. it wasn't great.. it didn't give our offence 5 short fields.. and we lost. HOWEVER this team isn't built in a lopsided way.. we have a lot of money, picks and effort invested in this offence.. our offence SHOULD be able to win games.. even when our D is struggling/not dominant. We had 5 trips to the RedZone... convert those 5 trips and we win the game.. it is as simple as that.

There are a lot of reasons why we suck in the red zone.. MM struggles.. our OLine wasn't dominant enough to get our RBs into the endzone.. and Dak can't hit a fade and/or tight window throw. No one is talking about it.. but this is probably also one of the times where we can actually see the effect Zeke had on this team/Dak. Zeke scored a lot of RedZone TDs last year.. and found a way to get into the Zone.. Pollard is a very very good back and it was the right call to move Zeke on and make Pollard the prime back.. but Pollard is a long home run hitter.. not a power back that will find a way from 4-6 yards out. We haven't replaced the production of Zeke in the redzone run game. Secondly.. Dak put a LOT on Shultz last year in the RedZone.. a big bodied TE that could take ugly floaters and make a catch. Our current crop of TEs are just not getting it done.

Dak has never been able to hit short throws to WR in the EndZone very well.. and that is because most of Daks explosive plays are created from YAC.. not because of great passes. Hence why many of us don't believe in Dak.

So it should not come as a surprise that an inaccurate QB, with poor field vision, slow reflexes, slow hitch and release and poor footwork is struggling to convert RedZone opportunities. However I still believe this team can win with Dak (we need too!) if we recognise the weakness and scheme around it. I hope that MM can work this out and improve otherwise this season will go the way of so many others.

And FWIW.. the Oline held up really well yesterday.. without 3 starters.. that should be a cause for celebration. Dak is the luckiest QB in the league.

Defense was terrible in the 1st half, gave up points on every drive. Offense failed in the red zone. Special teams had terrible penalties, it was a bad game by all 3 units

So much happened last week I'm sure that affected the preparation. You people just overreact to anything bad. It's a loss, it is what it is. Move on to the next game.

No it doesn't. A good run game has a ~50% success rate. That means you're putting your team behind the sticks half the time, even if you're good at running the ball.

There's no correlation between run success and play action effectiveness.

it's pretty clear that people don't understand the innerworkings of a TEAM and we changed the offense, the offensive coordinator, play caller, OL coach, RB coach all of it plus the plays themselves.

add in we haven't even had our entire starting offensive line in place , then we're missing 3 starting offensive lineman in the same game....

i watched Jalen hurts play just missing his RT tackle alone he's not the same player, take away a TE or wr... they have one of the best offensive lines in football... and yet he has more turnovers this season than Prescott.. let me see him play missing 3 starting OL let alone changing the entire offense on him overnight....Now add in the defense choking the game away with inordinate number of penalties. sure Judge the QB from a hater viewpoint.

here we are judging Prescott in this new offense with clear issues with players missing and it being new, especially with the red zone comments...

i've seen many top ten cornerbacks absolutely not play well in that situation.... he's clearly still top ten but the team has changed a lot... they're going to need some time to adjust, although the overreactions are priceless and certainly expected but still a giant cluster of nonsense.

The game to game overaction high and low is so why other teams and fans hate our fanbase. now i see it..

Terrible just terrible... .

Right we're basically playing with a preseason version of offensive lineman... No offense can look smooth or functional missing all your offensive lineman..enouygh of this!! This isn't to you but this is for all to read because I'm going to do this all day all day because I'm sick of this...OVERREACTION WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let me be clear the defense was terrible,, special teams didn't look good, and we're missing 4 pro bowlers, and the penalties were terrible

we lost the game!! done!

See how quick that evaluation was we lost one game that's it it's one loss after game one last year everyone thought it was over we clearly got on track found a rhythm and got to the second round of the playoffs..

The overreaction and over evaluations after every game both high and low are ridiculous around here..
