Stanback is the only one of the three I can see getting cut.

The wildcat is dead and he can't stay healthy enough to contribute at WR.

I hope we draft his replacement.

IDK why anyone would want to give up on Free this early.

Guarantee you the Giants are glad they didn't give up on David Diehl. Free needs a little more time, as do most OL.

People forget what a joke Flozell was at LT until Parcells turned the light on.

I'm fine with being the only one on this board to think Stanback is a star in the making. This could/should be his breakout year.
Sad that Garrett won't use the wildcat but Stanback is a great fit; he has a big arm and with Felix-Stanback in the backfield and Tony out wide here and there it could be

I seriously dont see what everyones fascination with the wildcat formation is??? If we had a crappy QB than that would be one thing to add some flavor to the offense but we have a QB that can play lights out that defenses have to fear. Instead of everyone wishing for this formation that aint gonna happen in Dallas how bout you start wishing and hoping that JG utilizes the talent we have at RB and brings more of a balanced attack.

It's not a fascination? it's that Stanback can throw the ball about 70 yards and he's big and fast. I said "here and there" and wasn't suggesting we abandon TR. Dallas never runs any trick plays anymore and throwing one out there instead of a delayed draw probably wouldn't hurt. A double pass or something would probably fool everyone if Dallas did it as long as it wasn't vanilla.

This would never work in Coach Tecmo's system. It's too detailed and not predictable enough. So, while it's a great thought, don't get your hopes up.

The wildcat was dead by the end of the season. It's a gadget play that has gone the way of the chuck and duck.

I think Stanback has run out of excuses and will be forced to play this year. We'll finally see what he can do.

Free has shown nothing so far and that is why I think this camp is his last. Just like McQ.

Stand on the sidelines in street clothes is my guess

Not me.

Flozell and Solomon Page were absolutely horrible and everyone thought both would be cut.

Flozell stayed on the roster and Page got tossed out the door.

Both were HORRID though.

Flozell was awful last year though and I hope it was just injuries.

Broadus said that they always had to stay on Flo because he isn't very self motivated.

What is Barbie's realistic trade value? 5th?

The more accurate way to look at it is what is the cap hit? Probably not a lot since he's still on his rookie contract.

Free we need to keep and see what we got. Same with Stanback. Barbie needs to go asap. Guy is so soft and definitely not a fit for the 3-4.

I may have been wrong about Carpenter, maybe he just needs some reps.

Can we just wait and see how all three play it out in TC? Really, what's the point cutting them now?

You don't understand. Some people harbor long-held grudges. It affects their common sense.

Cutting a OL after only two years is nonsense. They love his athleticism and he played at a small school. Really cutting any guy that you have spent two years developing esp out of a small school is folly.

No one sees eye to eye with me on Carp so I am not going to go there anymore.

Stanback I can see being released. OTOH despite his shoulder problems he is still a guy that was converted from QB and missed all of his first offseason/TC.

One thing I am noticing here is an unwillingness to let guys develop.

It's always that way with kids. A penny in the pocket burns a hole.

Why are folks ready to cut Free? It makes no sense.

Here's a guy that's playing behind Flozell Adams....like Adams or not, he's still one of the best LTs in the NFC. Do you really expect Free to beat him out so early in his career?

Let Free continue to develop. If a new player is better....then cut him. Folks amaze me when they want to cut players that are playing behind our better players.
