IMO if we take care of the defense the offense will take care of itself. Defense wins championships just look at NY. Who is their impact player on offense? A strong offensive team will almost always lose to strong defensive team.

Dynasties are made from strong offensive teams. Defenses will have a good run of a year or two, but longevity is made with offense these days.

Really what is overlooked in that is balance. A truly good team has both offense and defense, and recently, we have spent all of our resources on defense. We need to balance this out, stop depending on just getting lucky on offense and thinking it will continue. Its not like our defensive picks have all worked out anyway.

I agree on balance and we'll leave it at that. :D

I'm taking ALL BETS that we don't end up with McFadden...........

Okay, then I make the following bet with you:

If the Cowboys trade up to get McFadden, then you must strip down naked and do the chicken dance at an all-male "Alternative Lifestyle" bar of ill repute. If they don't get McFadden, then I must travel out to your neck of the woods to videotape and post on the internet the above mentioned activity.

I feel that this bet is quite fair and hereby state in front of all members of this board that I will honor said bet.

You have zero credibility here anymore. Either you simply don't pay attention, or you are just someone who loves to give stuff away, but it was made pretty clear yesturday that it doesn't take nearly as much to move up into the top 10 anymore and yet you want to give up...4 picks and a player (Which, btw, Jerry mentioned would not happen because using Players as chips for moving up in the draft is useless, given that they are not valued nearly as highly as they would be prior to the draft or a week after the draft) to move up and get one guy...

Wow. Thank God you aren't running the Cowboys, or any NFL franchise for that matter.

Calm down. The only reason I gave that scenario was to cover all bases, especially if there is another team competing with you for the same coveted spot. I hope it doesn't take that much, but what I'm aiming at with my scenario (if you actually took the time to UNDERSTAND it) is KC's 1st (#5 overall) AND 2nd round (#35 overall) picks. And by the way, I just read today that the Jets may be trying to leap frog the Raiders at #4 and go to #3 to grab McFadden (might it be because of a "rumor" floating around that the Cowboys are interested in the Raider's pick??), in which case if we really wanted him my scenario might be on par. Ayodele wouldn't bring us any more value before or after draft day. I wouldn't be surprised if his highest value to us throughout the remainder of his career with us might indeed be on this year's draft day - if you take the time to actually think it through.

As someone quoted on this board, the Cowboys don't need a lot of picks this year - just quality. If the Cowboys are really looking for a WOW player at RB in this year's draft, is there a bigger name than McFadden available? I think McFadden at #5 and Cason at #35 (if he lasts that long) would be EXCELLENT quality at our two most coveted positions going into the draft.

Next time, don't give such a sweeping conclusion on a person's credibility based on a single statement posted on a sports message board of all places. If anything, I'd question the firing order of your synapses for wasting the time to even make such a statement!
