Twitter: Throwback video of Myles Garrett begging Cowboys to draft him

We were picking 28th. Garrett went 1st overall. Would've taken like 4 firsts and 4 seconds to move up and get him.

Yes, I would go get him. Jerry and Stephen won’t and he probably ends up in the division.

Dak, JJ, , SJ needed to be taken to the football wood chipper 6 years ago-but people in this thread are of the serious opinion that the team should entertain putting a solid gold hood ornament onto a jalopy. It’s like you guys work to market the team. This thing needs to get rebuilt save for maybe 7-10 guys.

Anyone getting Garrett would be getting a bargain because they would only take on his salary. His pro-rated bonus would be Clevelands problem. His cap number would be under $2 million for his new team.

But Cleveland is $38 million over the CAP already. Trading Garrett would at $16 million to their problem. They can save some CAP space by restructuring Watson but that seems like throwing good money after bad. Looking at the rest of that team's contracts they don't have many contracts they can dump to get rid of their CAP problem.

Do you think he will get traded w/o a new contract in place?
I'm not sure you make that kind of investment ( draft picks ) w/o having him secured on a new deal.

Yup.

LOL....Eagles fans and media are pushing this hard, real hard and frankly, it's exactly the kind of thing Howie would do.

He’s probably already broke.

Browns have reworked his contract many times.

hes only making the league minimum in base salary now.

over 36M in dead money hanging on the end of the void year.

and he’s UFA in a few seasons.

no team will want that mess.

I haven't seen Garrett yet say he wants a new deal. I have only seen conjecture in the media. If I had to give him a new contract at the going rate of about $35 million I would not be willing to part with much in draft capital on top of that.

Perhaps throwing him a $40 million signing bonus for the next two years would appease him. But yes, I would want to know what he wants before I make a deal.

of All the big names that have been linked to "interest" from the Cowboys over the last couple of years, NONE of them have been signed by the Cowboys. This is just another click bait rumor.
The Cowboys only sign top tier FA's if they are CBs or WRs.

Dead money is generally bonuses that have already been paid and would be assigned to the old team(Browns).

Eagles will somehow find a way to sign him for pennies.
I see these possible scenarios playing out.

Scenario 1 - He will sign with the Eagles for cheap and will win defensive player of the year.

Scenario 2 - If he signs with Dallas they will give up a 1st round pick for the next 5 years. Also it’s a guarantee he will suffer a serious injury in training camp and never play a single down for the Cowboys. Then he will get released and picked by the Eagles in 2026 and win comeback player of the year and defensive player of the year.

No way he comes to Dallas. Surprised no one's mentioning the Bucs.

The Browns will return to the playoffs before the Cowboys will. And what would the Cowboys trade to the Browns to acquire him? No chance in **** Jerry gives up any draft picks for Garrett or any other player, for that matter.

Myles Garrett apparently has as much comprehension of the Draft as most of the Zany Zoners on this site.

Dallas had pick 28. Cleveland pick 1.

"Take Tony Romo and a couple of picks, and move from 28 all the way to 1"???,

HA HA HA! he must be a Cowboy fan to blather out an idiotic statement like that

Hey....let's take this QB, whose a weaker far less talented Jay Cutler (not that the full strength Jay Cutler was anything to write home about), and just throw in some later picks....and THAT irresistible offer should make ANY team with the 1st puck willing to essentially drop out of the 1st round completely

So similar to the "hey, Dak sucks, letsbtrade him for 3 first rounders" ideas I hear in here. HEHEHEHEHEHHEE!!!!!!!
