BA is attention starved, so he comes on here with his virgin eye of the game, and not any skillful football knowledge of how things unfolded last year, and what's gone on this year.
Some of us fans actually study the games and not just look at them like some old grandma.
If you studied last year, and even Woodson mentioned this, RW had never played the FS position in his life--'s a different scheme all together. RW will not sit in the back field waiting for interceptions to fall into his lap, he's going to be out there destroying personell all over the field.

KD may not be the best cover FS out there, but what would you like to throw back in order to get one? You can't have Pro-Bowlers at every position.

Would you like to have drafted a FS instead of Ware, so that you could complain about our pass-rush. Just chill out dude, and if you have something to say, at least think about it first and study things instead of shooting off at the mouth.

Some posters are constantly negative about everything. I would hate to think they were that negative in their own personal lives.

BA, it's all about matchups. I disagree with your premise. When there are two wide receivers, I like how we match up against other offenses man to man. At 3 wide we can go nickel and be confident that we have the better matchup.

I also like the speed of our linebackers, and I think they can handle most tight ends and running backs. We saw what Ware did in the pre-season.

Don't worry about Roy in coverage. He's going to play the SS spot this year. Davis is somewhat of a worry but we should be able to scheme around that.

No NFL team in this league is perfect. Even New England and Philadelphia had holes last year. There are 32 teams in the league, it's impossible to be covered everywhere. Frankly, I'm still more concerned about RT.

True but when 99% of your posting are negitive what good is that? It just appears you approve of nothing and find fault with everything.

Vinegar isn't exactly healthy either, but thank you for worrying about the diets around here. I'm sure everyone is thankful that you're so worried about them.

Sometimes the cup is half full. Sometimes there's no cup at all.

you seem to forget that we have a 3rd veteran CB who we can bring in to do the job of the FS, because it seems parcells isnt interested in getting a real FS. I think we are going to play a lot more nickel packages on passing downs in the season. 3 cover cb's and 2 hard hitting safeties is a good secondary. we just need to rely on glenn more than we do on davis to cover .

on top of that not only are your posts always in a ****ty mood, theyre usually wrong as well. please stop posting.

You gotta believe that our secondary will be 100% better than last year's with the addition of Henry, Glenn and the promotion of Davis.

I mean starting Reeves/Frazier at CB and Dixon/Scott at SS was a joke last year. These guys are career backups and never should have started. I doubt they will ever start again in Dallas or anywhere else. If Thornton had stayed healthy, he might have done a better job at RCB, but with Henry and Glenn now in Dallas, the best he can hope for is replacing Glenn in the future.

I have little confidence in Reeves or Jones becoming good CB's either. I mean, neither could beat out Frazier last year and he's been long gone.

BA, you're out of your mind. My man, you're simply not thinking clearly. Giving up 400 points had little or nothing to do with throwing over the middle.

We gave up 400 points because we could not pressure the QB and we had injuries. Number 1 draft pick in 2005? Top passrusher in the Draft. #1 priority of the off season? Pressure the QB. Everything we did this off season was about fixing what was wrong in 2004. Did we plug every hole? Probably not, but we hardly stood pat.

Consider this as well. WRs do NOT like to go over the middle. You act like they all can do it. No they can't. Some WRs "hear footsteps" as soon as they get away from the sidelines. Why do they "hear footsteps?" Because big hitters at SS patrol the middle. Who's the biggest big hitter SS in the NFL? His name is Roy Williams and he wears #31. Take a look at him, I think you'll get over your acid reflux.

Add to the fact that we didn't show everything we are going to do on defense during the preseason.......even Bill admitted that after several games when he stated that he knew we were looking bad on some passes in the middle but he was more often looking at other areas during preseason. With this said I am not saying that there won't be some mistakes over the middle in the upcoming season! But like Hos, as long as Williams and Davis are in the game going over the middle will be extremely dangerous!

Slight case of chicken little here, and deservedly so. Enough to where people aren't buying even though there might be a hint of truth to this notion.

We all know this defense will have some problems, particularly in the seams. And there will be a period of adjustment.

But I can't wait to see this defense once the players find a comfort zone and play the scheme without thinking as much.

-Davis and Roy couldn't cover me

I wouldn't call Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris "coverage" safeties either, but they did a pretty good job and those 70s pass defenses weren't dominated by TEs either.

A pass rush cures many ills.

David.
