No, he didn't. He said he would have liked for him to have trained with the team, but he wasn't upset with him. There's a difference.

I don't disagree with this. Just saying that Phillips isn't pitching a fit about him not being there. And he's gone out of his way to state that he wasn't unhappy with Julius.

To me, this is much ado about nothing. Just like the TO non-story.

Why did Phillips even say anything about Jones not being here then? Phillips did say he would like for Jones to be here and working out with the rest of the team and while I agree some will make a bigger deal out of it than need be at the end of the day Phillips would still like it if Jones were in Dallas working out. Jones needs to do what the coaching staff wants them to do.

Because maybe it was pretty noticeable that he wasn't working out at VR. And maybe he was simply responding to a question presented to him by the media.

Yeah he does if what's being asked of him wasn't voluntary.

Now mind you, Julius plans to attend every voluntary OTA going forward, but if he didn't, I'm certainly not going to bash him for it.

Well Phillips has said he would like his players working out in Dallas together as a team. Jones is a member of this team and should be expected to be at VR working with the rest of the team. If you take that as bashing him then ok but given the fact this team has not done squate in years I'm to the point of not being understanding of players wants and needs Jones like every other member needs to get his butt to VR

Phillips is like every head coach. He would prefer his players to work out at VR. And I don't think it was a shot at Julius when he said he'd like for all the players to work out there.

Jones is a member of this team and should be expected to be at VR working with the rest of the team.
Need I remind you, those workouts are voluntary? So the head coach can't do a thing if a player decides to work out elsewhere.

I just think it's ridiculous to take a hardline because a player whose name is popping up everywhere in trade talks decides to work out elsewhere until everything was resolved.

Just once I'd love to see one of these fans tell a football player to his face that he's "a whinny little girl," or that he's "crying again."

Your right HC's want their players together working out and as I said the Dallas Cowboys have not done jack in years now and as a fan I do expect the players to be at VR working and improving so that just maybe we might actually do something for a change. As for you reminding me about it being voluntary I know what this is and as I said I expect players to be at VR if that is what the coach is asking if the coach did not care he would not have said anything about it. As for the hardline stance I'll go back to point #1 this team has not done jack and until they do I will continue to expect the players to do what is being asked of them by the HC and the Team. If that is being too hard well then I'm just a hardnose fan who thinks highly paid players should be doing what is asked of them for the best interest of the team.

According to Phillips 98 percent of the players have been at VR working out. That does not mean they are at VR every single day working, guys take time off to travel and be with family but they also spend time at VR working with teammates. I'm not expecting anything out of Jones that I would not expect out of any other player on this team. I know that is hard for you to understand

Akin and Julius were on a sports show the other day talking about the cowboys and the upcoming season, and both spent the time whining about how they were coached / used........I have little patience for players that whine. They need to take ownership of their careers and put up or shut up.

Then where do you stand about Greg ellis, he is the biggest whiner of them all, and yet you fail to mention him. I don't see where the rest are really whining about anything at all. BP did miscoach JJ. So JJ mentions it, no big deal. The entire defense "whined" about the way the coaching was going by not being agressive enough. It worked abainst the Colts, then BP backed them off and you seen what happened, but yet he refused to be aggressive.

I don't know what you dont' understand that these guys have lives outside of football. The reason most coaches want their players working out is to make sure they are not slacking and come back out of shape. As you can see JJ was NOT out of shape. Amazingly enough not everyone wants to live in Dallas all the time.

I realize you don't expect any thing out of any player you defended every thug in the league. I'm not asking Jones or any player to give up his life I expect Jones to do as other members of this team are doing and what the coach is asking of these players. If that offends you then so be it.

Your right, I belive in Due Process. I belive that not everything is reported in the media is the truth. I am willing to wait to see how things play out. I don't belive in changing the rules then punishing someone once you change the rules for things that happend before the rule change. I am not a drone like you. Please get off your high horse, I seriously doubt you spend your free time thinking about your job or doign things to get better at it. I would wager that if your job said they would like you to come in 4 hours on the weekend to get better at it you would not show. Once you show that dedication to your job, then talk, but until then zip it.

Don't give me that crap about being payed millions of dollars. Guess what, its still a job. Don't get mad because you chose the wrong profession.

What is is with people expecting things out of these guys they would never expect themselves.

I'm not mad I expect Pro football players to do what is being asked of them. I'm not saying Jones should be treated different so if 98% of the players are working out at VR then I expect him to be there as well if you don't like that then too damn bad. Unlike you I don't think he deserver’s special treatment. If he is a member of this team and everyone else is towing the line then I expect no more or no less for Jones or any other player.

Bro you make no sense. That is the same thing as your boss asking you to work when you are on vacation or on the weekends. He is not gettign special treatment. It is Optional. He has maintianed a very high level of fitness

They are not on vacation just because the season is over does not mean they get a 6 month vacation. 98 percent of his teammates seem to find their way to VR expecting Jones to be there is not asking for the stars and the moon. Phillips is not going to force any player to be there but when the HC says he prefers the guys there and working together then that is what I expect Jones and any other player to do.
