Steve Williams is a ******..

You'd have thought he was the one actually golfing all these years.

He's made alot of money over the years being Tiger's caddie. Take the high road, get a new job, and move the heck on.

Very well put. I agree 100%.

so Steve asks Tiger if he could caddy for Scott in the Open since Tiger wasn't playing and Tiger gets his panties in a wad and fires him. Pretty stupid.

According to Steve Williams himself, he was fired before he caddied for Scott. He and Tiger agreed to keep it quiet till after the British Open.

why would he ask Tiger if he could caddie for Scott if he was already fired?

That's my point. What's yours? Am I missing something?

As YR said earlier in this thread: "Rumor has it that Williams didn't like Sean Foley and was bashing Foley (and Tiger for going to him) and that got back around to Tiger."

Again, this is just a rumor. The only thing I heard for sure out of Steve Williams' mouth is that he was fired before he ever caddied for Scott. He said the reasons for his firing are between he and Tiger.

obviously. Steve asked Tiger if he could caddie for Scott, then Tiger told him "I think we need to take a break". Steve says in caddie speak that meant he was fired. so Tiger fired him for wanting to caddie for Scott even though Tiger wasn't playing. like I said, pretty stupid.

You're probably right, but it is very ironic though that with all the who-ha over Woods' return at a course which he has dominated in recent years, that his ex-caddie wins with his new man.

Woods is going through a lot of changes right now and his 1st event in a while. So it came as no surprise. As for Scott, as I said when you keep it in the fairways and putting lights out as he was for the week good things happen.

I guess I missed this. I didn't hear Steve say that. Either way, what's it matter? Scott fired his caddie before he used Stevie. It happens in golf. Steve Williams wasn't Tiger's first caddie. Fluff was. Tiger fired Fluff and picked up Stevie. It's business. It happens. Tiger hasn't said anything bad about Steve Williams publically. Williams, on the other hand, is taking the low road. To me, it makes Tiger look like he made the right decision.

I read the same thing, Tiger did not want to create a distraction for Adam Scott heading into the British Open so things were kept hush until afterwards.

Do these answers add up to you?

Q. How did it happen? How did you find out?

STEVE WILLIAMS: He just called me up when I asked him to go and caddie for Adam, and he didn't agree with it, and thought it was time to take a break.

Q. The conversation that you had, the phone call, was there a consideration on your part like did he say, if you do this, it's over?

STEVE WILLIAMS: I was told on the phone that we need to take a break, and in caddie lingo, that means you're fired, simple as that.

Q. Simply because of Scott?

STEVE WILLIAMS: When you're told as a caddie we need to take a break, you're fired.

Q. Doesn't he owe you more than just that?

STEVE WILLIAMS: Hey, I mean, I see mechanics get fired on a race team, see mechanics get fired all the time. I got fired. Simple as that.

Caddies and NFL kickers should do only two things:

1. Do your job.
2. Shut the hell up.

Dude, think about what Stevie knows about Tiger and has kept it to himself, just think about that for a second. You think Tiger wants to call him out? You really think he's taking the low road? I bet he could get way lower than this.
As far as Tiger firing him, Stevie is the most arrogant *** caddie ever, or in other words, the perfect caddie for Tiger.

It's called class. Tiger is showing it, Steve is not. That's not debatable. It doesn't make it classy because Steve could go lower but doesn't. What kind of logic is that?

As for his interview answers, he refuses to answer the last 3 questions. You don't find that a bit odd? Why, when pressed if caddying for Scott was the reason he was fired, doesn't he answer it? I think there's more to it than just "I want to caddy for Adam Scott while you heal up." But even if that's all there is to it, what's wrong with Tiger wanting him to wait for him to heal? I mean, Tiger's made Stevie rich beyond his wildest dreams. You don't think there's a loyalty issue there? You don't think Stevie should've just waited on Tiger? The fact is that whatever the reason he was fired, Tiger simply fired him and said nice words about Steve in the press. Steve did not return the favor, which is low class for a professional.

Both guys are classless... They made a good match.

But there's a great chance Scott makes more money than Tiger over the next seven to eight years anyway.

Class and Eldrick Woods should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

Eldrick is an arrogant piece of crap who has lost it and I for one hope he never gets it back.

Any day Eldrick Woods golfs badly is a good day.

Like it or not, Tiger has showed class in this situation, at least publically, which is my point.

No I don't think Stevie should have waited on Tiger, he's a caddie, its what he does, been doing it as long as Tiger has been alive. Why would Tiger have a problem with him caddying for someone else while he's out? Scared he might win with that guy?
