I completely disagree with this.

Probably a lot of people do.

But still it comes down to Tiger.

He has to make the naysayers irrelevant.

But to do that has needs to start winning (again).

Looks like the cut line will be +3. Currently Tiger is +7. After 4 holes he remains at +7 (4 pars to start the round)

Making the weekend will be a tremendous accomplishment after yesterday's disaster.
How old was Mickelson when he started winning Majors? 39?

Phil was 34 when he won the 2004 Masters. He is 41

As for Tiger, yes his work is cut out for him today if he is to make it to the weekend

After 5 holes Tiger is now +8. His driver continues to hurt him. I think Tiger needs to put the drive up today and stick with the 3 wood. He hits that club around 300 and can keep in the fairway as he just did on the 6th hole.

After falling to +9 Tiger finished the 8th and 9th holes with birdies to get back to +7. He has to go -4 over the next 9 holes to make the cut

Double on 11 puts Tiger back to +9

The cut line is not looking like +4 but Tiger is running out of holes

Can we blame Romo for ruining his life and golf game? :)

No only one controled his action and that was the dude in the mirror.

Frankly outside of all the personal issues I think the swing change was a big mistake. You don't win that many majors and then change your swing.

:laugh2: I know, I'm just kidding. I hear you on the swing changes, but every golfer does it, not always to the extent that Tiger does, nor the frequency, but I still feel that he's quite capable of winning more Majors and regaining #1 in the world. We'll see.

Sorry no not every golfer does it, guys make minor adjustment they do not do complete swing changes and those who have do so because they are not winning or competive, you don't do it when your winning at the rate he was.

I'm sure Tiger will win again I have major doubt he will regain #1 there are many great players out there and they are not intemidated by Woods any longer

Minor adjustments is what I was talking about. I guess I could've phrased that a little better. Didn't he change his full swing twice before with success? I want to say late 90's and early 2000's?

I think the intimidation thing comes when he starts playing well and challenging them for the win. Obviously right now he's struggling, and he hasn't been the same in what, 3 years now? But he flashes what he's still capable of and if he gets it together and starts winning, especially a major, all that intimidation comes right back along with it, imho.

Yes he did but you keep doing it and what has resulted is extremely poor play which was not the case when he made changes at a younger age.

His drive looks like crap, his irons are lacking control, his sand play and chipping is not good and his putting is not there.

I like the guy and I think he is good for the game but I think he made a big mistake making these continual changes.

Add to that the knee problems and no I don't see him making it back to the worlds #1. I do think he will win again but I not at any consistent pace.

You make some good points, but here's hoping you're dead wrong! :toast:

I would be more than happy to be wrong. I just find it highly unlikely he will ever win at the rate he was winning a few years ago. Then again I don't see anyone playing to that level. What Tiger has done in his career has been remarkable which is one reason I think it was so stupid to mess with what was working so well.

and Mike did not ***** around on his wife? Woods never held himself as a saint the media did

Please, he totally held himself out as someone who walked on water, that he wasn't really black, etc

Irvin was what he was and he never denied it. Irvin was at least honest with himself, Eldrick never was.

He did nothing of the sort, he was built as the best golfer in the PGA and for the most part that was true. All this other non sense is in you own head.

Hey if you don't like him fine not everyone is going to.

Man cheated on his wife that is what he did that is between him and his wife and has nothing to do with anyone else.

I hated him long before he was caught with his pants down.

I always knew he was a fraud.
