What were the last 3 questions?
No I don't think Stevie should have waited on Tiger, he's a caddie, its what he does, been doing it as long as Tiger has been alive. Why would Tiger have a problem with him caddying for someone else while he's out? Scared he might win with that guy?

Do these answers add up to you?

Q. How did it happen? How did you find out?

STEVE WILLIAMS: He just called me up when I asked him to go and caddie for Adam, and he didn't agree with it, and thought it was time to take a break.

Q. The conversation that you had, the phone call, was there a consideration on your part like did he say, if you do this, it's over?

STEVE WILLIAMS: I was told on the phone that we need to take a break, and in caddie lingo, that means you're fired, simple as that.

Q. Simply because of Scott?

STEVE WILLIAMS: When you're told as a caddie we need to take a break, you're fired.

Q. Doesn't he owe you more than just that?

STEVE WILLIAMS: Hey, I mean, I see mechanics get fired on a race team, see mechanics get fired all the time. I got fired. Simple as that.

The 3 questions are above, along with his answers.
Today he apologized:
"Looking back on it, I was a bit over the top," Williams admitted to Foxsports.com after telling CBS Sunday night he had just completed "the greatest" week of his life. "I had a lot of anger in me about what happened and it all came out."

I feel like I'm repeating myself. If you read through this thread, you'll see that Williams was fired before he ever caddied for Scott. This was confirmed by Williams himself. Here's my point....Tiger is the boss, Steve is the worker. Steve was fired. Tiger never said a bad thing about Steve to the press, he just said it was time for a change, and he praised the job Stevie had done. Steve blasted Tiger in the press repeatedly. Who showed class, and who didn't? Obviously Steve realizes he took the low road, or he wouldn't have walked it back today. Tiger has the right to fire him. Steve needs to quit whining about it and take it like a man.

who said he was fired after he caddied for Scott? he was fired for asking to. good grief. Tiger got his panties in a wad and fired the best thing he still had going for him. Stupid thing to do like I said before.

Class and Eldrick Woods should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

Eldrick is an arrogant piece of crap who has lost it and I for one hope he never gets it back.

Any day Eldrick Woods golfs badly is a good day.

So I take it you don't like Irvin either?

In a related note, Ryo Ishikawa shot a +15 85 today! It should be noted that he finished in 4th place last week.

I'm sure he is not happy, on the other hand Steve Stricker is -7 after 15 holes

Irvin didn't hold himself out to be something that he wasn't. He was brash, big mouth and who loved to partyetc.

Eldrick held himself out as some kind of saint, Stanford boy all while banging the crap out of anything with two legs.

McIlroy hurt his wrist.

Evidently struck the root of a tree on his swing.
heard on the Golf channel this morning that Ryo was shaking his hand like he had hurt his wrist or hand, they were also talking about all the Japanese fans following him around.

Maybe so, I know for a fact McIlroy did. That was a big root he hit.

yeah, just saw that on ESPN, that came way after the Ryo thing. Hard to believe McIlroy is playing as well as he is. That was really stupid to swing that hard at that root.

That's not exactly true.

Wood's image was well polished by his handlers for profit purposes, i.e. lucrative sponsorships.

The media portrayed him that way, because that's what Tiger Inc. wanted (and needed) the world to see.

I'm sure most top athletes do have PR people but he was not made out to be a saint. I think what he did was wrong and he has paid for it but there have been acts by athletes including some of our own like Irvin that was just as wrong. As far as I was concerned that was between Tiger and his wife not my business. I can say I never looked at Tiger as nothing more than a man who played golf to a level not seen before.

No question that this sort of thing happens all time, and it's not just athletes that partake.

Tiger's image was polished to a point exceeding just about every athlete's image on the planet.
