male gymnastics is kind of gay, but I wouldn't mind to get some of those biceps

to go along with my 12-pack

The whole scandal aside, How does a golfer win athlete of the decade?

When someone, one year before the decade ends, decides to make a "headline" out of nothing.

No doubt about it. I have been playing the game since I was 7, I currently hold a 5 handicap but I have to constantly work at it. Seems like when one part of the game is going great another part is in need of work.

Hey, I resemble that last sentence; it seems that on days when I'm really crushing the driver, my iron play is shaky... then I have days when I'm just knockin' down flagsticks with my irons, and can't seem to hit a fairway off the tee...

And the only time I really score well is those rare days when most of the putts are falling... LOL...

some gymnasts run or atleast get a running start. men gymnasts get no respect from me though.

Then your definition of "athlete" is completely asinine... and as I've already demonstrated, it doesn't square with the definition of the word you'll find in any dictionary...

It could be argued that gymnasts are the best pure athletes in the world... this coming from a guy who is no particular fan of gymnastics, but has a grasp of reality...

go watch some of those fruitcakes it isn't hard to tell they like men.

What, being gay makes you unathletic??

So, it seems your definition of "athlete" is "heterosexuals who run well"... ROTFLMAO...

if you don't find that gay than this conversation is over.

That gay guy is far more athletic than you'll ever dream of being... you couldn't pull off any of those moves... you wouldn't be strong enough, or coordinated enough...

It would be a hoot, watching you try to perform the "cross" maneuver on the rings, holding your entire body weight with your arms at 90 degree angles to your body... hell, it would be comical watching you try to get on the rings...

Then again, Joey Chestnut is probably a better athlete than you are... :D

I can tell those who have never played golf before. Tiger Woods is the Muhammed Ali of golf....you are seeing history in the making and it has been said many times, it is harder to hit a golf ball CORRECTLY than it is to hit a 90 MPH fastball. It's true. I hate golf, but I've played it, my brother in law is a former PGA player of the year and to watch Tiger Woods hit a golf ball in person, is SCARY! Those who say golf isn't a sport do not have any clue what hand/eye coordination is all about.

I dont consider golf a sport either, but thats an argument for another time. Him winning is a joke though.

Oh and BTW it takes a lot of stamina to drive race cars, especially NASCAR. Its hot in the car, you're wearing basically a fire proof suit, and you're driving 500 miles. You get out of the car weighing about 10 pounds less than you did when you got in it.

Isn't this the 2nd or 3rd "golf bash" thread we've had this year?

I'd love to drag a couple of the bashers in here out for 18 holes (no carts, of course). Especially if you don't know how to properly swing a club, not only will your legs and feet be killing you, your shoulder will be aching, your arms will feel like they are gonna fall off, and your hands will hurt and/or be blistered. Tell me then how this isn't a sport. The OP probably wouldn't last two hours on a course during the summer.

PGA players average 4+ miles of walking a day per tourney, x 4 days.

It's a pretty safe bet, half the "golfers aren't athletes" crowd in here, don't walk 4 miles a WEEK!

I thought Lance Armstrong should of been athlete of the decade. Coming back from caner the way he did in addition to what he did on and off the bike was just amazing. Tiger is one of the all time greats, but what Lance did this decade triumps Tiger in my opinion.
