Always hated watching him run all over us... I only enjoyed when we caused him to fumble OR when the Giants were too dumb to put him in and used Jacobs... THEN... we made him fumble....

Good riddance.... all this praise for a guy who never won nothing and consistently threw his coaches under the bus.... so now he is applauded... T.O. does it and ..........................

Glad he never won SB... go Ronde!

The Giants will probably make a run at Michael Turner and then draft Michael Bush....

Turner, Jacobs, Bush.....now that is one backfield I wouldnt want to have to deal with

Giants' Barber makes retirement official

By Mark Zimmerman
NFL.com
NEW YORK (Feb. 12, 2007) -- New York Giants running back Tiki Barber officially sent the NFL notice of his retirement the morning of Feb. 12. In a letter faxed to the league office at 11 a.m. ET, he put to rest any rumors or hopes that he would be returning to the league for the 2007 season.
"All along I've been firm in what I said, that this would be my final season in the NFL," Barber said. "I have had a wonderful 10-year career. I have a lot of great memories, I've made a ton of lifelong friends and I will always think of my NFL career fondly. But now it's time to move on to the next stage of my life."
Barber's retirement was a front page story back in October when the news first came out, but many people still wondered if he was truly hanging up his cleats.
"This should set aside any thoughts of a comeback," said Barber. "The next stage of my life is about to begin and I'm truly excited about it."
Barber leaves the New York Giants as the 17th all-time leading rusher in league history and holds most of the career rushing records for the Giants.
It is expected that he will begin a broadcasting career some time in the near future.
I'm going to miss his mouth. not

I respect the heck out of Tiki but man i'm so happy he's gone. One of the best players without a doubt in the NFL the last 4 years. Not sure he is a HOF though and if i had a vote i would say he isnt one

Definitely.

He could do it all, run, block, and catch, and do it very well.

IMO, I thought that over the past 2-3 years that he was one of the 4-5 top all around RBs in the NFL.

obviously LT is 1st but you could make a case for Tiki being the 2nd best overall RB the last 3-4 years. actually really really thinking about it i cant see how you can place anyone other than LT above tiki during the span. maybe James in his time with the Colts... That speaks volumes of how good Tiki was during that time

I completely agree.

I really think it's going to be difficult for the NYG to replace him.

He was their best, most consistent offensive weapon and the best player on their team over the past few years. And he's retiring in his prime.

atleast he will know the game unlike some of these nfl commentators

Yes, but will he be allowed to be honest and objective. Or will big brother instill the media hatred toward the Cowboys....embrace the hatred.:D

And you'd be correct. If this guy gets into the HOF, the HOF instantly becomes the Hall Of Decent .

The sportscasting industry seems to have a love affair with him. He'll be on big screen and in living color every Sunday.
And he'll be doing Escalade commercials on TV and in magazines.
He'll be more high-profile in retirement than he was as a Giant.
Sorry to break this to you.

He may not play anymore but his smiling mug is going to be all over the tv.

Yeah, now we have to tolerate him during the game not just afterwards in the post-game show.

BEATING!
