Tiki Throws Coughlin Under the Bus

In his memoir, 'Tiki: My Life in the Game and Beyond,' Tiki Barber writes: 'If Tom Coughlin (below) had not remained as head coach of the Giants, I might still be in a Giants uniform.'

Tiki Barber says he would still be playing football if the Giants had a new head coach.

Just to sell the book.

Why not commit and say "I would still be in a Giants uniform"

Maybe Barber doesn't care much about being a revered Giant...

For all of LT's bad behavior, I don't recall him throwing crap at the organization...and he's still welcomed with open arms.

Tiki walked away slinging stuff. How can the fans and the organization justify bringing him in as a revered Giant?

Imagine a former Cowboy player doing what Tiki is doing in this day. I know we have had former players rip the Cowboys before, but it is a different time now. The media would absolutely be eating this up and wouldn't let it go all season.

Good point-when Tiki was ripping up their locker room last year, the PTI guys nonetheless invited Tiki on their show and threw SOFTBALL qs at him, and Skip Bayless somehow tried to spin it like it was "merely locker room trouble", but that wouldn't be bad enough to lose to us in that 2nd game.

HOWEVER-when TO even *supposedly* may have said/done something, ESPN and Skip will just blow it out of proportion 24/7.

That is the biggest problem with Tiki Barbers book, if not for Tom Coughlin Tiki Barber definately wouldn't have been the Tiki Barber that he was the last three years. He was a decent RB that fumbled the ball WAY to much when Coughlin took over the Giants Job, he helped turn Tiki Barber into a very good RB.

Regardless of Tiki's lounge act, Coughlin is a grade A jerk, and deserves most every shot he gets thrown at him.

Screw his book. However, I guarantee that there are several players in the Giant’s locker room that are quietly applauding what he is saying about Coughlin and Manning.

Coughlin’s style is made for High School and if he doesn’t win early there is bound to be a great deal of dissention. Eli is a good QB in surname only; my perception of him is that he is a goofier version of Peyton without the talent. Vela’s blog about critiquing the boyz in a vacuum rangs true and I can’t wait to kick their arses so we can send them down on their inevitable downward spiral.

Well, to sell sports books these days, you need the sensationalist blurbs. I blame Jim Bouton for this! He started it all back in the 70's with "Ball Four" - now you've practially gotta expose ex-teammates as Al-quaida members to make the best sellers list.

I loathe Tiki tho - and just love the notion that Tom Coughlin drove him out of the game. I don't for a minute think it's true, but I love contemplating it.

As much as I hate the Giants- alot- they don't even deserve Tiki Barber , who is perhaps the most annoyingly manscaped,self-centered, self-important athlete the game has ever known. I have had several inclinations to call Sirius radio and tell him as such on several occasions. This guy is something else.

I wish this cry-baby would just go away. It's funny how he was just a fumbling guy before Coughlin took that job. He taught Barber how to protect the ball, and Barber had his best years under him.

I am glad Demarcus Ware about knocked that chump out last year!

Haha i was gonna stay im gettin real tired of hearing Tiki talk but once i really thought about it hopefully Tiki wont shut the rest of the season with his criticism toward the Giants. Good distraction haha until they fall out of contention then hopefully does shut the hell up!!! Ha even Giants fans must hate him now...
