Finally he is showing something. Now some so called experts on this board are now ready to have him start. Just as stupid as those who said he was a POS.
Finally? He looked good last preseason as well.

He won't be able to answer that. At least not with an honest intelligent response.
I already knew that. Par for the course.

I've been really impressed with his run blocking.

He really caves people inside to the point where you're just like "wow".

He has tremendous feet. I just wish he were a bit bigger.

But man the guy has really good feet for a big man and he keeps them moving once he locks on.

Im still a little skeptic but from what i've seen in the pre-season I must say that im impressed.

Who said anything about him being ready to start?

It said they like what they are seeing in him.

Three false starts and Flozell standing there with his hands on his hips as Romo gets killed --about half way into the second game--and everyone will want him to start

Until then , I am glad they like what they are seeing--because I would like to see Flozell walk out the door ..Never was as good as he could be and dang sure not as good as he was --:(

Amazing

Here's a young LT finally starting to show progress (and he has looked good in all 3 preseason games) and we still have people in here trying to sharpsoot him.

Agenda much?

Forgive him, he's just bitter. I got a tip in the off season that Free was really doing well and posted it, and he went ballistic stupid. Now it's all spin control trying to rationalize the fact that he was wrong.

I'm glad Free has had a good camp and shown improvement to the coaches, of course until you actually get out there and see action in regular season none of us will know how he will fair but I do think it is very encouraging that Free has stepped up his game and has shown the improvement.

I disagree. If he sucked in practice and preseason games he would more then likely suck in the regular season game.

I did not think he sucked nor did the coaches. They grade them as individuals not as the entire 2nd and 3rd string lineman they are playing next too.

It said they like what they are seeing in him.

Which to me sounds like "he's better than last year".

Great.

What would make me feel better is if they could state that he is ready to take over for Adams. It won't be long.

Eventually, he will have to be deemed ready or we need to draft a LT high. I don't care for the Leonard Davis option.

No I was making a point that typically when a player is playing well in practice and in the preseason games, it will typically translate into regular season success. Likewise, if the player is not performing in practice or preseason games he would more then likely suck if he is called to play in the regular season. This was in response to your statement that you don’t know how he would play in a regular season game.

I'm sorry I miss understood. I do think he will face a much more difficult challenge should he be forced into the lineup due to an injury than what he has seen thus far in practice and pre-season. Reg season play tends to jump up a notch from the pre-season. Until the time comes where he is put into the position there is some unknown but as I said I'm encouraged that he has made improvements within his game

I don't like the LD at LT option either. I would rather have someone plugged in there instead of having to worry about both LT and LG.

Cannot find any fault in your logic and I agree that the level of play does go up from pre to regular season. However, all I am saying is given the opportunities during the preseason, Free has progressed. Also, I feel if he gets regular season playing time he has demonstrated that we should not worry.

I'll have some concerns as I do when any starter goes down. Free is coming along that eases the mind somewhat but until the bullets start flying for real you just don't know for sure. I will say I feel a bit better than I did entering into training camp in regards to the depth at OL.

This is all we can hope for. I hope that our OL stays healthy but if they don't it won't be a disaster like last season.

I hope not, Free has shown promise this year. I just think until you do it in a regular season there remains a bit of concern but somewhat less than it was heading into camp.

Well, at least you admit to it. It's a start. :D

Seriously, any Cowboy fan should be pleased that one of his team's players is improving, even if he has to eat crow.
