Chances of returning to Cowboys: DeMarcus Ware 50% (with pay cut), Jason Hatcher 15%, Miles Austin 0.01%.

Think people getting used to the fact that Ware could get released if he doesnt take pay cut.

Well myself and many others are hoping he gets released so there's not much to get used to. lol

I'll believe it when I see it. This organization has shown very little ability to be cut throat with their star players.

i would hate to see ware cut but the reality is you can't have him making a 12 mil base salry. if we won't cut that to around 6 mil then i would have to move on. no restructure without the base cut

That's right. Must of us think he's gone. The other two are as good as gone, Hatcher is a free agent, on the wrong side of 30 and Austin was nonexistent the whole season with his replacement already on the roster. It was good while it lasted.

Told y'all before the year that this year was our best chance to do anything and it wasn't very well accepted.

Now we might've seen the last of D Ware with no help on the horizon.

There is never a better time to rebuild with a new coaching staff and we're just going to stay status quo. It makes me sick.

A sizable cut. A really big cut. Ware won't go for 2.5 mil per but I would just try to trade him for "anything" or outright release him. Miles 0.00 % give Hatcher a deal that benefits the Cowboys and let him try free agency. We are going to have to grab two dline players in FA and draft 2 more in the 1st 4 rounds. And I think the fans will be quite happy with that as a good start.

Ware won't go for anything less than 5MM for the exact reason Free didn't go for anything less than 3MM - the agents know that releasing the player would cost the team more money than that price. If you remember the timeline on Free renegotiating, it took forever. Dallas threatened to cut him, his agent said "fine, it will cost you more to do that" and both sides settled at 3MM - the exact cap hit of cutting him. Free had zero leverage so his new salary ended up at exactly the cap hit of cutting him.

Ware has more leverage because if his problems were all about his injuries last year, he is clearly capable of getting healthy and putting up a double digit sack season. IMO Ware will take a cut of 5MM or so but with incentives added that can make more if he rebounds. The team will essentially be gambling 1 or 2MM in cap space - plus the incentives - that he returns to form.

Just trade DWare to Atlanta, I mean he's always wanted to play with Osi right? ;)

DWare will take the paycut, the others won't be back.

Anyone that wants to argue that DL is a strength of this team, please step forward.

Enough of a pay cut to make up for how much we'd save on the cap if he wasn't on the team?

I agree. No need to gamble on Ware just release him to the Falcons. lol

Or just make simple business decisions. I believe it was Jerry that said if you were in a fox hole, you would want to be in it with him because he is very loyal and has your back. Basically saying, he will make an emotional decision before a business decision with players he is loyal to.

Garrett is the prime example.. Guy hasn't earned a cent in his paycheck.

Ware is yet another scapegoat for thr failures of Jerry, Garrett and Romo.D. Ware is not the reason this team is Terrible. he will do very well again, when he get's out of here.just like Newman and Pacman in Cincy. and just like Marty B in Chicago.let all three of them go.and this team will still be sitting how for the playoffs. the problem is Jerry.
