We play the Tampa 2,that is 3 LBs. Walker adds bonus in both areas as a guy who can play LB or as a pass rush specialist putting his hand in the dirt.

Adderly comes from Delaware and so who in his conference has made him this WORLD -BEATER as a Safety???Powerhouses like UNC-Wilimiington? Drexel University? Elon? Hofstra? This is where the Northeast media overrates and hypes their players hoping for better recruits to sign with them.Big East did this crap for years. Who do you think makes better pro players My guy from the SEC or your guy in the Colonial Athletic???... Adderly I do not believe is big improvement over Woods or Heath. Earl Thomas on the way and Adderly sits the bench.

Simmons already was not going to be invited to the NFL Combine even though he was considered a TOP 15 pick before the ACL injury. Read between the lines, you know why? The NFL Combine refuses to invite players who have possible ties to gangs, high character risks. So Simmons besides the injury has a past that needs to get looked into. Besides character he might have to take 2 years to get fully healthy because that is the average for players to overcome knee injuries. If they can come back.

Yeah Marinelli got mileage out of Woods, also David Irving, Nick Hayden,Drake Nevis,Daniel Ross, Brian Price, etc. The list goes on... Why gamble on a medical risk who has character flaws also so high, when you have a solid player that competes right off the bat vs Damien Wilson & Sean Lee for that 3rd LB spot, who also becomes another pass rusher when needed???
I really don't have any problem with your mock but, most of those Dts you listed were horrible. Nick hayden ? Seriously? David Irving is a fan favorite but he is overrated and has been wildly inconsistent in his time. With the cowboys . I like antwuan woods but he had more than a few bad games this past season.
The divisional round loss to The rams would be the most glaring example. Caruan reid also got abused during the rams game. Has daniel ross even done anything noteworthy?I'll just be glad when rod finally retires

How many of those guys you listed like Hayden and Ross and Price did anything of note? Not many. They were JAGs. Our best DL under Marinelli were guys who were higher round draft picks mostly - Lawrence, Crawford, Collins, Gregory, etc.

This notion that Marinelli can build great DLs with JAGs is absurd.

We also don’t really play a lot of Tampa 2 anymore. Marinelli started mixing it up more the last few years. We actually play a lot of nickel now. Our third CB played way more snaps than our third LBs combined. The third LB in this defense doesn’t play a ton. The snap counts the last few years also show that.

You also keep saying he helps with the pass rush. How? We don’t blitz a lot to begin with so we wouldn’t likely use him all that much that way. So are you saying he’d put his hand on the ground and play DE?

And Simmons has ties to gangs? Wasnt his issue and why he was not invited to the combine because he was arrested in 2016 for hitting a woman involved in a fight with his sister?

What did I say in that post? The NFL Combine does not invite players involved in gangs or high character risk....Do you think assaulting a woman is a HIGH CHARACTER RISK? YEP!!!

So Walker cannot help in the pass rush. We need the other team to know who is coming on pass rushes and we cannot have a LB blitz or even put his hand in the dirt. WHATEVER!!

I was curious why you even mentioned gangs specifically.

Let's note that I am in no way saying that Walker is a bad player or can't rush the passer or anything of that sort. I am simply looking at this logically and not as if this is a Madden video game. We play a certain system of defense where we don't blitz a lot, try to generate pressure with our front four and also play a lot of nickel. In that type of system, having a stud 3rd LB isn't exactly a priority. Having a LB who can blitz well also isn't a prime fit for this team. It's not about slamming you or the player, it's about taking a realistic view of this team, what kind of defense we play, other needs, etc.

I don't think using a third round pick on a LB that could start 5th on our depth chart (if Lee is back) and wouldn't be used to blitz much by this staff would make a ton of sense.
