The Cowboys met their initial goal of winning the division. Even if we can thank the Egirls for a total collapse down the stretch and one of the most idiotic coaching decisions attempting 2 point conversions .

In the end we had to win 12 games and we did it for a franchise record 3 consecutive seasons . With that we are rewarded at least 2 ( if necessary)playoff games at home .

I think most would agree this seasons success pends on finally reaching our first championship game appearance since 1995 season. Anything short of that especially playing at home will be considered another disappointing and frustrating ending.

We will be favored and expected to hold home court regardless who our opponents are . We are undefeated at home this season and have longest current home winning streak in NFL.

It’s finally time for this team to meet their expectations playing their best ball on the biggest stages ending an almost 3 decade narrative of no championship game appearances .
3 consecutive 12+ win seasons isn’t even a franchise tying record. We had 4 seasons in a row of 12+ wins in the 90’s.

I want not just an NFCCG but a SB as much as anyone else, but our success will depend on several things, not all within our control:

- Our offense needs to roll at home. Our defense can be porous and plays best with a lead. Getting ahead early is a big deal.

- I don’t wish injuries or illness on anyone. It took feeling pretty crappy for Martin to miss the Washington game. If that sweeps through the locker room, it will be a problem.

- Obviously an injury to a star would be an issue.

- I’ll explode if bad officiating costs us another game. I just can’t take it. The margins are slim as it is. A fumble through the end zone and a bad call that pushes us out of FG range can cost us a game, at home or anywhere else.

Still, I’m an optimist. My prediction:

We beat GB by 10+

I think we win the division round against whoever our opponent is.

I think SF gets to the CG and I think we end them just like we did in the ‘92 season when we were underdogs.

I think we route the Ravens and bring home the Lombardi.

Bookmark this to either call me a fool or a genius. I can handle either one.

Go Cowboys!

Yep, this has to be the year to climb the divisional round wall. Two home games, where you haven't lost all season, as the higher seed. No excuses.

Get to the CCG, then we can talk about the SB.

Then your misinterpreted the message .
No your message is clear, you always try to double speak as an out. You’re happy with a CCG simple as that, the out doesn’t work just like you constant praise of Garrett then the out and it became “best puppet”. Your message is clear CCG is great season look forward to next year.

Again I never said I’d be happy. I did say it would be progress . And it would meet expectations . Most of all it will get one of the monkeys off our back .

And my words are carefully selected so they can’t be rebutted. I guess all that’s left now is an attempt to personally discredit or insult me since you don’t like my message.

Right. One monkey off our back at a time . This doesn’t mean losing in the Champ Game wouldn’t be disappointing and or frustrating.

But I think most set our initial expectations this season winning division and finally reaching the NFCG .

Sorry I didn’t state it more clearly. The 3 consecutive 12 win seasons was by a Cowboys HC not just the franchise .

It’s really amusing how Trolls are so desperate to defuse any positive or potential progress .

If the Cowboys finally make a NFCG it takes away one of their talking points . They will try to deflate it with the opponents we play , being at home or fact we lose to SF.

This is how you can always identify or differentiate harden critics and cynics like myself over trolls .

Exactly. Success doesn’t mean we will be happy if we lose championship game .

But success I’d argue is measured by progress. I’ll be happy to discuss what defines progress and success for this season.

Have to do it to see, I’ve trumped that excuse with the fact I would flip sides if Dak actually played well and got this team to nfc championship. Until then you can keep making excuses or put the money where the mouth is and hold him accountable
Trolls are always right until they’re wrong.

if Rams do win, it would be the second game against SF in two weeks for them.
Anything’s possible but I certainly wouldn’t count on it.

We’ll see how Egirls do in Tampa but they could still pull it together however unlikely it appears to be at the moment and give SF a game . Assuming Lions win and we beat Packers.

Sometimes we need to be careful what we wish for . Fortunately we’ll know by Monday nights game but if Rams win then we could be facing Phil in second round instead of Detroit or Tampa.

I think Tampa wins a close game, mostly because they play at home and Eagles are such a mess.

We should make it to the NFC title game unless we lay an egg in the next couple games. The thing that bothers me is that I don't believe we can beat the 49ers. They are in our way and remind me of those 90's Cowboys/Niners teams. They play good defense and run the ball down your throat and our weakness happens to be stopping the run. I have a genuine dislike for the Niners dating back to the 90's with Steve Young. Maybe someone can beat the Niners along the way but I doubt it. I know we are supposed to focus on one game at a time but I can't stop thinking about San Fran. We would need to play almost perfect to beat them and our road game performance isn't good........

There’s nothing wrong with SF having a better team that we do. And no shame in losing to them. Unfortunately there have been greater teams in Cowboys history who get in our way.

My dislike for the 49'ers goes back to the 80's and that god forsaken "catch" that is shown constantly!!!

The way I see it is to focus on the micro. Let's beat GB first. The championship game is not promised because fans are tired of waiting. We gotta make the divisional round AGAIN first before the championship game.
But of course it's one game at a time. But we gotta ACT like it's ours....from the very 1st minute of the next game right on till the end.

By "act like it's ours"...I don't mean waltz around like we are owed it for nothing. I mean leave some blood, sweat, tears and muscle tissue on their dead corpses.
