Hackenberg is a guy who may end up falling in the draft. His results have been so poor, but there are so many tools. If he falls to the 2nd or 3rd, I'd snap him up and let him sit and learn. Needs to learn pocket presence more than anything.

The Cowboys will draft the best available player, that is their mantra.

If the Cowboys are up in the 1st round of the draft and there is a RB and a QB, who do you take?

Suppose Romo heals and is capable of playing another 4 years? Do you draft a QB high and then train him to play for a different team?

QB without a doubt

Agreed, he hasn't had much to work with at Penn St, and he needs major coaching on footwork, but has a lot of attributes.

It's that kind of guy that the 'Boys may be willing to draft if he falls to them.

Brissett at NC St and Towles at Kentucky are in that category as well.

But the point is that Romo will not be able to play 4 more years, and if he does he will constantly be injured for games at a time. His back could get injured on almost any hit he takes. So take the QB because it's clear as day Romo won't last 4 years. Hopefully he can last 2 after this one and we can develop a QB behind him

In eight weeks of Brandon Weeden tearing up the league behind this All-Pro offensive line, nobody will remember this thread. People will be debating wether to ride his "Beuerleineske" hot hand and not rush Romo back from injury.

Amazingly enough we could offense with our first 2 or 3 picks next year.

SO MANY GET CAUGHT UP IN BIG ARMS AND SO ON. The very best QBs are often those without cannons for arms. Montana and P Manning for example. What made them great was what was between the ears.

As Tony talked about it recently- Spatial Awareness. Ability to very quickly recognized defensive shifts and coverages. THAT is where you need to concentrate your search.

personally i think its to to take one you think can be a franchise guy, in the first round if need be. We cannot continue to bury our heads in the sand. Romo is awesome but father time and the physical nature of this game waits for no man.

A 1st round QB can sit for a couple of years a la aaron rodgers with little to no pressure and learn from one of the games very best.

We need a true heir apparent.

couple of years? Heck couple of practices is more like it

That's like trying to time the real estate market or stock market. You can't.
