I don't know about that specific dream team. But it's incredibly frustrating that the most valuable sports franchise on the face of the earth goes so cheap on their coaching staff. There is no salary cap! Jerry could hire anyone he wants. Get the best coaches. The Cowboys have the best facilities in the league with AT&T and The Star. Almost $2.5 billion invested. Goes discount shopping for head coaches. Doesn't make a darn bit of sense to me and I always felt it sends the wrong message to the players.
Mike McCarthy is not a bargain bin coach.

GM: Troy Aikman
HC: Tony Romo
OC: Jason Witten
DC: Demarcus Ware

We’d go undefeated for at least a decade with this Avengers squad assembled. It’s time for Jerry to really go all in.
I noticed no one on your list has a single day of NFL coaching or front office experience. Is this list more like that of the 2011 Eagles dream team variety?

Tony Romo could absolutely be an defensive coordinator, but never never never a head coach. And never an offensive coordinator.
Actually Tony I think would be a great OC. He basically was running the offense the last couple of years he played.

BUT after the way Jethro put a knife in his back he would never come back; and frankly I doubt he wants anything to do with the insane hours a coach has to put in when he is in the NFL

According to his teammates Romo had no leadership skills, but make him a HC. Give me a break.

Jerry is cheap on the marketing arms of the franchise that don’t make him money. Head coaches and their staffs are decidedly not sexy marketing arms in his mind. After all, it’s not about winning with him. It’s about profit margins, even though winning and profit margins are correlated, but only in the sense that with a team like the Cowboys you need to consistently field an 8- 10 win team over a couple decade span. If he does that, he’s happy and he has been happy because his profits have soared.

Plus, he knows he’s got to be the decider in the room and most, if not all, coaches that would draw a hefty salary are not going to want some meddling dolt interfering with, and micromanaging, every roster decision they make.

Unless they can have bodies from 20 years ago, give or take, and play on the field, all we will have is a HOF sideline.

Laugh out loud at suggestions that either Aikman or Romo would step away from their lucrative part-time jobs to take on this mess.

Witten and Ware are more realistic targets - though Ware was never really known as a ‘leader’ during his playing career. I think I’d be more interested in getting Sean Lee involved in coaching the defense.
