Time table for Dak to win major games?

The game in SF was lost the moment Pollard went down. Dak Prescott isn't a net benefit to the offense and in that game he was a net handicap for the offense. I'm not even sure how many of these games they need to play to realize that the guy is simply not a benefit in a game against one of the better teams. Now a lot of folks will claim that all QB's have bad games or good defenses stifle even the best QB's. Not arguing that, however there is a difference between being someone who plays neutral vs someone whose play hurts the team and when it comes to Dak Prescott vs the better defenses and teams, his play simply hurts the team. That game against SF would have been a win had it not been for those turnovers, had it been for a reasonable amount of ball control and moving the ball. Towards the end of the game the offense couldn't even move the ball with any competence. Now part of that is on Kellen Moore and he is gone. But Kellen Moore calls the plays and it's up to the players to execute - they failed to execute and a lot of that is on Dak.

I was not defending Dak. Simply stating there were a few other plays that contributed.
Pollard's injury hurt a lot. Diggs dropped INT and his non hit on Kittle. Though I bet if he would have the refs would have called a hit on a defenseless WR.
Turpin cutting inside instead of outside missing a sure TD..

Dak's 2 INT's were a huge part, but not the only reason.

Jimmy Johnson said there are usually 6 plays that define a game. Add Pollard's injury as a play, that is 6 main ones right there. And sometimes it is just the way the ball bounces, as to say, staying in bounds as opposed to going out of bounds. Other times it is the choices player make.

I don't know if Norm Hitzges still does it on the ticket or not. Every Monday after a game, he did a segment about 5 plays that could have changed the game. But he does it from the losing teams perspective. I wonder if any of these 5 plays were on his list.

Don't bet against it. however it could, and should be back loaded. To be able to get out of it with minimal cap hit. So let Dak "bet on himself" to EARN the full contract.
However the way contracts are going, too much of that $300 mil will be guaranteed. Therefore, still costing too much.
Do it this year, or move on. But they won't.

Probably, but we seen comatose offenses before get inspired from a big play on defense.

Hell it took Stafford 11, 12 years to win a playoff game.

Now before all the excuses and and goal post moving for other quarterbacks begin, remember when Dak is the topic of conversation, there were many here that said "good quarterbacks elevate the talent around them"....

So that goes for all other quarterbacks as well.

It's not highest paid vs highest stats. It's consistently winning and getting your team deep in the playoffs. At the end of the day, stats mean very little if you can't win when it counts the most ( see Tony Romo vs Tom Brady or Drew Brees )

I like how you are stirring the drink with good posts this offseason. Keep up the good work. I was a big Dak supporter and still am to a certain extent. I think he is a good man, hard worker, good teammate, and a good but not great QB. Unlike some of the wall bangers here I root for Dak because we need the guy to succeed. The reality is he has 2 years left on his deal. That's his window. He has done a lot in the league but has failed in the big spots. You can't pay a guy $40-50MM that is not getting the job done in the playoffs. Let the morons in AZ and Cleveland do that. Dallas needs to be better. Hence, he has 2 years to show he deserves another deal. There should be no talk of an extension. Furthermore, Dallas should be drafting QBs this year and next to give themselves a shot at developing someone to take over.

This could get ugly.........but I agree. If he can't run MM's new offense and still has turnover issues......it's time.
