It's times to move on from him. Dallas cacan save 14 million in cap space if he's a post June 1 cut in 2025. With Zack Martin probably gone also, just rebuild the o-line. Maybe move Guyton to RT his natural position, let Tyler take over at LT draft a RG/LG.

I think he’s still struggling with his knee recovery

Agree with moving on from Martin though - shell of his former self and a warrior and all time great

O-Line is a bigger issue than what has been discussed

Can’t block and can’t pass protect - I hear those can impact your offenses effectiveness

He remains too straight up and too lazy to put some pad level advantage into center of gravity. He was the cause of pressure and at least one interception thrown.

I haven't liked his play all season.

it's also $14 of dead cap between 25' & 26', but I agree he's toast. I like Guyton at LT & I dont like continuing to switch players positions, so if you do it it's for good.

Correct with the 14 million cap savings (as well as the idea that this guy stinks), but his 13,250,000 salary for 2025 became fully guaranteed this past March.

They love to back themselves into that spot for some reason.

Now….if Jerry wouldnt eat 5 million to not have a lame duck HC and staff for this year, do you think they are going to cut Steele when they have to pay him about a million a week next season anyway? I’m thinking no.

These are the decisions that haunt this franchise, and I have no idea why he couldn’t have been had much cheaper, but they wanted to congrat themselves for finding a UDFA starter….and we know Jerrys line of thinking…higher pay means better performance.

That's the biggest no-brainer of the offseason

I have been arguing since last year...he has zero laterall mobility...and he gets beat easily...not sure if its because of his injury as I haven't watched him prior to injury and see how he was...but he sucks..

and to be sure, we are not moving on from him. he will not be cut. he will carry a 13.5M dead cap and jerry/stephen don't like dead cap money, it would mean they would have to pay another player for the same position (paying twice)...they will ride the contract to the end. or perhaps cut him in 2027

The issue is money and Jerry actually willing to find an upgrade at the position. Is Steele a very good RT? No. Is he at least on the lower end of starting quality? Yes. Is Jerry going to actually go sign a better player in free agency? I doubt it. Is he going to move Tyler Smith to T which is the more expensive position right before he signs an extension? I doubt it. Is he going to cut a player with $50M in guaranteed money who he has only paid half of that to? Highly doubtful.

I think we are stuck with Steele for another year, probably two.

I think overall Steele at his best was above average for a RT
now he is not even close to that

He never should have received that extension. He was never more than solid - the type of guy who, in today's NFL, you should be able to replace when his contract runs out. The type of extension he received should be reserved for foundational pieces - which he was never close to being.

ZM has voided years in his contract.

I think Dallas lets him walk because there is a ton of dead $$$ on him.

ZM is playing hurt. But don’t be fooled. He can still whip most DTs.

Look for TJBass to get the RG job in 2025.

They will cut Steele post June 1. Saves 14M in cap.

Draft a RT in 2nd round.
