That is why I said name names. I said Cowher NEXT year- but as of right now I see no one I want more. BY THE WAY- BELICEK and Cleveland. He was a real genius there, wasn't he?
hindsight damn well better be 20/20.
*you feel* no one is better than parcells right now.
*i feel* a young and hungry coach would do wonders here. look at payton and what he's done in NO for an example.
it CAN happen but not if you're afraid to take the chance, or are sold on past glory replacing current production.
can parcells turn it around next year? sure - but what would be so differnt then than now in his own demenor on the sidelines and how that brought down the team? (in my opinion yes - his indecision and short timers attitude did hurt the team, understand you may feel differently but that's life) given what we've seen in 4 years i don't see a 5th year being "key" to just what we need.
we need:
1. heart and leadership - you can say players must provide that and i agree. they provide that and follow the lead from the coach. if not there they can only carry it / fake it so far.
2. direction. all this "i don't know, i need time" crap from parcells whether you like it or not effects having a solid gameplan and direction to follow through the course of the year.
3. adjustments. we need to adjust to what the teams do to us and how we attack them.
4. we just need to be hungry again. a parcells/cowher type coach isn't really "hungry" anymore - so i'll pass on those and take my chances on finding a payton out there who can make a difference because he's where he wants to be.
and he knows it.
