Actually, if this were a car repair analogy, some would hear a strange noise in the engine and assume we need to replace the whole motor immediately instead of looking at the real symptoms.

actually - it would depend on the noise.

simple rattle from cheap gas?
lifter noise?
smoking more than it should?
valve job do the trick?
fuel line issue?

the trouble with the analogy is that when an engine goes out the signs are clear and people don't normally fall in love with the past glory of an engine.

when a "coach goes out" it's all debateable to no end.

Hot names? So if they are so hot, why is Rivera now a four or five time bridesmaid? Why is Ryan getting nothing and even Brian Billick is amazed why not? Rivera could be getting more looks simply because he fits the Rooney Rule and not because he is actually a great candidate. And since Ryan isn't getting any interviews, what makes him "hot"? The fact John Clayton probably mentioned he is once?

This makes absolutely no sense at all. It is easier to exagerrate how dire our situation is and claim how we are a sinking ship than to actually look at the reality of our situation. We aren't dead in the water yet and making a change just to do it is an act of desperation without sound reasons why.

Do you need to look any further then the product they put on the field? If you do then take into account they are two of the hottest names in the NFL right now.

I wonder how Parcells would of ever made his way to the NFL head coaching ranks back in 1982 with the philosophy that some of you guys use.
