Time to pull out all the stops

For D'Bricksaw Ferguson. The guy is by far the best player in the draft, and if he played a skill postion he might be considered one of the best prospects ever. This is our biggest need and to me a no-brainer. Trade the 18th pick and Marcus Spears to the Jets for the 4th pick. We have many dlineman and wont miss Spears much. This way we can bring Greg Ellis back. If I were GM I would do this.

Im the biggest "Draft an Offensive Tackle in the 1st Round" guy on this board and not even I would think of doing something like that.

As we transition from 4-3 to 3-4, your biggest playmakers will be members of the Linebacking Core.

The only knock on Brick is he's just under 300, which is light for a LT. But he's stoned all the elite pass rushers that have been thrown at him at the Senior Bowl practices.

Personally I think he's the safest pick in the entire draft. There's only a handful of stud NFL LT's and my bet is it won't be long before he's one of them. Personally if I were the Texans I'd see if I could move down a few spots and take him. He could be the cornerstone of their team for the next dozen years. But they won't because they need to sell tickets.

From a value standpoint two #18's = one #4, so the #18 + Spears for #4 trade is about even in that sense. The reason I think the Jets wouldn't do it is I think they're hoping for a QB and this trade wouldn't help them get it. BTW, I don't think Parcells would be interested either in that but he might if we changed the deal to #18 plus next years #1. Value wise that wouldn't be enough unless the Jets thought we were going to suck.:laugh2:
