Time to trade CD Lamb

Stop being obsessed with tanking or chasing a ring, just let it all
Play out.

Who knows, maybe the guy who wins it all for us is at the bottom of the roster right now and just needs some patience

I think the time has come as we watch this season go into the abyss to trade CD lamb.

If we could get two number one picks and a number two get rid of his huge salary and rebuild the team.

As long as George Pickens continues to shine he is 2 years younger than CD and I don't think we're going to be able to pay both of them.
So do like we did with Micah trade him a few years early at the height of his value rebuild the team with guys on rookie contracts.

The writing is kind of on the wall we can't beat bad teams so take this season for what it is and stockpile draft picks plan for the future.
The guys we are paying the most money are not stepping up and making a difference when it counts we saw it in the Philadelphia game with CD and the drops we saw it at the end of yesterday's game with an opportunity to win.
Our most expensive player couldn't get us over the top.

Jerry got the ball rolling with Micah now it's time to purge this team of expensive players that don't make a difference when it matters
The old one step forward two steps back plan of roster building. Otherwise known as the “Jerry Plan”. I’m going to vote “no” on this one.

Who creates these goofy posts. How about trade the guys who actually suck. Like Diggs and Elam and a bunch of Dlinemen.

Well he is tradeable in the sense that another team would gladly take on that contract. All they would be on the hook for is his base salaries (and $1MM roster bonuses), which are actually going to end up being pretty team friendly as WR contracts explode.

Now from our perspective, yeah, he's likely untradeable unless we want to swallow a crap ton of dead money.
I'm saying the crap ton of dead money makes him untradable. I'm sure another team could figure out how to make his salary work but the cap hit is too much to help Dallas with any kind of rebuild.

Even if there weren't a cap hit, at best Dallas gets 2 first round picks, one of which would have to be a receiver who would hopefully be elite but would become so as Dak's contract is expiring so Dallas would have an elite receiver (maybe) and no QB (probably).

Trading all the good players for 1st round picks that Jerry seems to hit on about 1 out of every 7 (I made that up but feel it's close) is a bold strategy.
So what is our alternative we pay guys a king's Ransom they go into career protect mode.
And they don't step up when we need to get over a hump we continue to lose close games because our star players getting paid the most money continue to come up small.
The draft picks could help build some kind of a defense you're just not going to win paying a few a fortune and forgetting about one side of the ball

I agree, but the marketing hit Jerry would take would probably keep him from doing this.
I mean what would you do with all those Lamb Jerseys !
Yacht fuel is expensive these days!

Offseason - Dak needs more weapons than just CD
Today - trade away one of Dak's weapons so we can return to life after the last season ended.

Because they are truly untradable they've already been hurt and they're washed up .
Nobody's giving you anything of value for them

Pickens and the other receivers are stepping up CD is in protect mode.
Better to trade him before he gets injured and we're paying for nothing it's coming

It is too late to trade CD. They might be able to trade Pickens but won't get much. Look Dallas is one of the worst at getting back premium picks for a player. They might get a 5th or 6th for Pickens but they won't even try.

Nobody's obsessed with tanking or chasing a ring there's some people that would just like some good football to watch.

We went to the eagles stadium and we could have won that game we're paying CD lamb 37 million to drop the ball I don't think so.

And who knows maybe the guy that wins it all for us is in the next draft or the draft after that and if we have number one draft pick stockpiled we stand a good chance of building a team on rookie contracts that give us a window of opportunity to win.

Trying to win with a handful of high-priced guys who are trying to protect their careers and come up small in big moments is not getting it done for us

That's assuming that the rest of the receivers can continue producing at the rate they are. I frankly doubt it given that their production came against the Jets and Carolina.

It’s just video game brain you can’t trade all these guys away and then expect the ones left to go out there and give it their all

I'm not down with trading him but GP3 might be a better pure WR than CeeDee, and that's a good thing.

Dak is learning to trust him while CeeDee is out too:

When CeeDee returns they are the best 1-2 punch in the NFL in my biased opinion. :D

Pickens is benefiting from teams not taking him seriously. I mean he was being single covered by a slot corner at times.

Fans do this all the time, they overrate someone because of a little bit of success. Teams schemed around Micah because he was always a presence which in terms makes him less effective in the stat column but still a presence in the game and game planning.

Once teams start shifting coverage and double covering Pickens, going into games with the idea that we need to shut Pickens down, then you’ll know how good he is.

Respectfully disagree. Pickens always was a dude. But he played in an archaic offense with mediocre QBs in Pittsburgh. Now he has a top 5 QB pitching him the rock:

Pickens is HIM to be honest.

Pay attention guys
CD is untradeable because of his cap hit
Visionary gets it.
Some people don't understand how the cap works.
(I'd also argue that CeeDee is not getting you 2 1st rounders and a 2nd).
Since he just signed his new deal, if he is traded, all his guaranteed money hits our cap next season. Something like 42.8 mil. His cap number next season is 38, and he is #1 on the list for a restructure so the team can save cap space. There is no way we trade him this year or next.
