People act like Drew Bledsoe was the cause of us losing last year???.......Drew Bledsoe has been nothing but a blessing to this team. It seem like everytime I get on here and I read threads its people that call themselves Cowboy fans accusing him and comparing him to another teams quarterback? You cant compare quarterbacks from different teams to the quarterback that we have here because those are different systems! How can you compare Big Ben to Drew Bledsoe.... Last time I checked Pittsburgh is a dominate run team with a dominuate defense and Ben never usually throws more than 15 times a game but you compare him to Drew? Unfortunately we dont have a run dominate team like them so you cant compare them! You say Drew Bress he also had LT and Antonio Gates? You say Peyton Manning but he had James, Harrison & Wayne and a great offensive line.... Have you ever seen how bad he messes him when he is rushed?!?!? and you talk about Bledsoe? I not making excused im just stating facts....thats all quarterbacks play with different systems and there teams are totally different than the Cowboys. I mean how do you know if these quarterbacks would be any good in Dallas? The thing is you dont know? He may not be the Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and these other quarterbacks you guys wanted but you have to look at it this way would these other guys fit into the system that we run in Dallas???? I dont think so....Drew Bledsoe is the perfect QB for this team and all the coaches of the Cowboys know that! Everybody always say its only because of Bill Parcells.....He is a smart coach and he knows that Bledsoe fits into the superbowl run that we are going to make this season. As a matter of fact there were a couple games last year when our offensive line was messed up and you seen Bledsoe scrabbling out of the pocket to make plays himself to try to the win game.......you cant fault him! We missed the playoffs because of field goals kicks not Bledsoe! He is an awesome qb but he wont get the credit he deserves until we win a championship because no one wants to see his positives and that includes Cowboys fans! :star:

I agree it was a bad pass and one that should not have been thrown however it was also a bad call with seconds left in regulation that we did not just kill the clock and go into overtime or just take a deeper shot down field and try to rush the FG unit out there since we were out of timeouts in the game. I have yet to defend or make excuses when Drew has made mistake but I also know he made some big plays last season that helped the Cowboys win games just as well.

I don't hate Bledsoe. I think he is a good QB. I just disagree when some start gushing over him and thinking he is one of the best ever. I also don't have confidence in that he is capable of leading the Cowboys to a Superbowl. Nothing in Drew's playoff career points to him as the driving force for victories in the post sesaon. I think he can be a small part of the teams success, but mostly Dallas is going to have to rely on a strong, dominating defense and a powerful o-line and rushing game. None of those things existed last season. I think Jerry and Bill are building a strong defense and it is wait and see on the O-line.

He won us alot of games but at the same time lost us a few. He's a very good qb but until the oline is fixed we'll never know just how good he can become.

He choke just like Mcnabb in PHilly. that just ain't acceptible

He helped improve a dire situation and at the same time is
hindering the development of our 2 young QB's, which 1 of
is probably our future. He is a good QB, not great, and he
isn't the most talented or gifted QB on our roster. JMO

We would've been further along if he would have never came
here. We may disagree but, only time will tell.
I personally don't think he will make it thru the whole yr
injury-free. I think the odds are prolly against it, then he's DONE

HENSON TIME THEN:)

I don't hate Bledsoe.

I think he's an average to sometimes "good" QB.

But don't come in here and try to blow smoke up Juke's dress and tell us that Bledsoe is one of the top QB's ever to play the game...

Come'on now! I was born at night-- but it wasn't last night!

And I'll do my best to counter any posts made on this board that infer that Bledsoe is the second coming of Troy Aikman.

I don't disagree with any of that, aside from the injury part. Bledsoe's pretty dang durable. He's good, not great, I agree. But dropping the Seattle game, as if that's some be-all-end-all explanation for Bledsoe bashing is ridiculous. Tom Brady choked away a game last year to Greg Wesly and the Chiefs last year. If someone wants to know why the Patriots failed last year, is "Tom Brady - Chiefs game - nuff said," a viable explanation?

Hardly.

we're talking about a 13/14 yr veteran making that rookie mistake.
If 10 yrs from now Brady makes that throw , i would make the same
claim
I'm not bashing Deadslow, i said he was good (please read post)
He just ain't great.
He is actually a great guy, by all accounts, but not a great QB
That's not bashing

Im not saying that Bledsoe is one of the best quartbacks of all time.....Im just saying he is the quarterback that best fits the system Bill is trying to run in Dallas and it wasnt his fault that we didnt get no where last season.....Yes he did make a stupid interception against Seattle but Bledsoe does not call the plays and from what I read Bill Parcells didnt want to go into overtime because he felt like the Cowboys had lost momentum in the game. This coming season things should be alot better because last year there was alot he was carrying on his shoulder and he did a good job in my opinion especially when you see that we missed the playoffs because of missed field goals.....I mean for real who said we could have no been in the championship game this past season? Thats in the past now but just refering.

That's baloney. To pin all blame for one game on the QB, particularly when that QB was put in the position to be throwing at the end of the game, rather than kneeling, by (a) Jose Cortez, (b) the referee that picked up the illegal contact flag thrown because Witten was held, and (c) the defense that couldn't hold maintain their play for 60 mins.

Seattle, is hardly "nuff said."

Bledsoe threw that pass , he didn't see the defender. HE ,HIM, NO
ONE ELSE. Not the one who called the play, not the coach on the
sideline, not the kicker ....BLEDSOE threw an ill-advised pass.... He could've

thrown it out of bounds, he could've threw it in the dirt, heaven forbid
he could,ve changed the call. Bledsoe cost us that game Enuff SAID:rolleyes:

Why don't you go look at Bledsoes stats compared to the other QB's in the league and tell me what pops out at you.

Also, who at this point is better then Drew at QB. People make mistakes, Aikman made mistakes, Brady makes mistakes.

Bledsoe is by far our best option at this point. I am sure you could find fault with any QB, and you would unless we were in the superbowl...:bang2:

Bledsoe is a good QB who is light years better than anything we've had for a long time.

However, Bledsoe's biggest problem to me is that he has a tendency to be slow in making his reads and then making a good decision with the ball. That is why Parcells and other coaches are always telling him..."Get the ball out, get the ball out!"

Bledsoe and his defenders try to say it's because he is waiting until the last possible second to try and make the big play, but it's obvious from watching him that he requires more time to process information in his head than the great QBs like Brady. Brady is quick, decisive and routinely gets the ball out at the right time. That is why NE kept Brady and let Bledsoe go to Buffalo. It's also the main reason with Bledsoe, "it's always about the OL." The simple fact is, he has to be protected longer than normal to compensate for that part of his game.

Bottom line, Bledsoe is a good QB we can win with, but he's certainly NOT a great, HOF QB.

All QBs will make mistakes, but 14yr veteran should win games when there on the line. Not make ROOKIE mistakes.
Again i don't hate Deadslow , he is good/not great. He just happens to
be holding us back at the 1 position thats most REVERED in all of sports
That being the QB of Americas Team.
I wish he would accept a backup role for us, and be a mentor, but he already
said he won't be a backup in the league.

And like I said, Brady threw 4 ill-advised passes in the Chiefs game. So if someone's looking for criticism of the Patriots, I say "Brady - Chiefs game - nuff said" and that resembles rational thought?

I think not.

How very narrow, shallow, and short-sighted of you. Not surprising, but still...

Guess what? The defense could have done THEIR job and held the lead. Cortez could have done HIS job and and we wouldn't have had to be throwing either. My aunt COULD have a ***** and she'd be my uncle. Any way you slice it, Bledsoe is not SOLELY responsible for losing us the Seattle game. Because if you take that narrow-minded view, you have to attribute wins like San Diego, Carolina, Kansas City SOLELY to Bledsoe.

And that would just ruin your day, wouldn't it?:D
