Titans fans thoughts on Haynseworth

from DC.COM blog:

  • What next for this game? We’ve seen a pass knocked away by a teammate. A punt returner racks another teammate on a play. And of course, the Albert Haynesworth stomp and scrape across Andre Gurode’s face. What a bad time to have your helmet off huh?
  • As for Haynesworth, forget the fine, that’s a few games suspension right there. That’s too bad. He’s a good player, but are you kidding me? What is crazier, the act in itself or the fact that he was upset about getting a penalty and kicked out? Did he think that is Ok?

I respect the Titans fans. We all know how the Philthy fans would have reacted.

You're kidding right? They don't even come close. Spitting is insulting but does not even come close to what Haynesworth did. He could have easy got Gurode in the eye and ended his career.

Im just telling what I would think about it.

Yeah, I am going to be really PO'ed if someone kicks me in the head when on the ground but I am going to be equally PO'ed if you come up to me and spit right in my face.

Again, that is just me.

Wow, ok so lets assume you are playing in the NFL, and get spit on in the eye one gam and kicked in the eye another, two seperate times. First time you just feel insulted, and saliva doesnt really make you loose you eye, lets say you pick up a cold. The other game you loose your eye, and beside ending your carreer, you are now physically disabled forever. According to your logic both of those situations are the same.

I give Tennessee a great deal of respect for the way they have initially treated this incident. To me, that is a clear reflection of leadership from the top. Fisher is a stand up guy who is the chairman of the compatition committe so you know he doesn't brook this kind of BS on his team. If you consider the fact that Haynesworth is a home town boy, so to speak, it is commendable indeed. Haynesworth played for the Vols before being drafted by the Titans. I'm sure there not happy about the whole thing but it just goes to show that the sport of football is more important to them then the team and that's really the way it should be IMO.
