Video: TLC: You Will Never Look At Tony Romo The Same!

The fact that Romo will probably be overlooked for the Hall of Fame is a travesty.
Big Romo fan but he needed 3-4 more healthy years to get

1) undeniable HOF volume numbers (think Marino, etc) and/or
2) more playoff success

3-4 more healthy years. He lost a few years early while waiting and he lost years on the back end due to the massive beating he took between 2010-2013

Not a HOF resume in the end, but became a GREAT player when at his best

I 100% agree with this. I wanted Romo to get starting position back again, but the winning streak and publicity just lured Joneses into pushing for Dak to stay starter.
No rookie has ever gone to superbowl. there is only a few, very few who even make it to the CCG (that's what makes what Daniels did special).
Romo should have started the last 5,6 games of the season and then post season. one of the reasons we got into a pickle against GB, was our slow start.
the whole team was in disarray and that was partly on coaches. no guarantees, but Romo would have given us better chance in playoffs.
I respectfully disagree. Parcel's built a great roster, as good as any since but Romo failed to get it done.
and Parcells kept Romo as holder on FG's, and that was just stupid. After Romo became starting qb he should have come
up with another holder.
That cost them the playoff game with seattle,

He's not HOF worthy
With a new class of HOF members every year there are more and more "unworthy" players getting the nod. No reason Romo who holds numerous Cowboys passing records can't get in eventually.

As a Cowboys fan, I'd be happy if he gets in.
But he played in the era of Rodgers and Brady and Brees and both Mannings and Roethlisberger and Rivers and Stafford and Warner and Ryan - all of whom got to at least a conference championship or the Super Bowl. And Romo never led the league in passing or got a league MVP.
Naw, he aint getting in.

Romo led the league in passing in 2014 with a rating of 113.2.

My favorite Romo moment didn't happen on the field. I had just moved to Frisco in 2008 and heard a story about Tony pulling over on a freeway to change a tire for an elderly couple. How many millionaires would do that? He's in the HOF of humanity for me.

And that decision shortened Romo's career by at least 5 years.

Never did much like Romo as the QB in Dallas.

Did not like the decision by Parcells to swap him
in a half time as I did not think he had what was
needed (between the ears) to play QB in the NFL.

Athletically, he turned out to be much better that
I thought.

And after several years he started playing smarter
but Jerry's not protecting him with a good oline
eventually took it's toll.

But the time Romo figured out how to play QB his body was done.
you are entitled to your opinion,

unless your opinion is completely false, and it is several years, not smart enough the man's football acuity was compared to yes Peyton Manning I don't get what you're saying he sat two years because he was wrong undrafted free agent it didn't play that's not much different than a guy like Jordan loves sitting for three seasons before he got the player Aaron Rodgers sitting and I'm not trying to compare them but I'm saying other players sit for other reasons..

So 2004 and 2005 he has no stats because he didn't play.. And yes he came in six games into the season in 2006 and had 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions MADE THE Pro Bowl, and this is considered raw a guy who never played this level of football but it's kind of odd that even at a small school he actually was the MVP like he broke records at his school I think it was the same school as Sean Payton maybe I mean the dude played very well for a low level conference so he wasn't as bad as you memory..

So technically not even his second year but going into his second season playing, first season starting, as a starter 36 Tds 19INT yup Pro bowl no we're talking about how he reminded them of Brett Favre and they were right.. This man was one of the best quarterbacks ever played for the Dallas Cowboys and you said you didn't like him he played in his second year first you're starting like a pro bowler but really as soon as he got on the field he was a pro bowler first time starting I mean I don't know anybody that's not a good quarterback that can come in as raw as he was in his first full season starting at 36 touchdowns.. I always felt it was very weird and odd the way people viewed Tony Romo he basically came out of nowhere and as soon as he got a chance he was an instant pro bowler year 1 playing a pro bowler year 2 ,A pro bowler,

I mean he increases touchdowns like ridiculous like almost double them in just six more games... So in case you need a reminder he's like 78 -49 as a starter has over 34k yards, 248 touchdowns and only 117 interceptions, one of the best touchdown interception ratios by any Dallas quarterback let alone comparing him to the rest of the NFL which was great...

Your memory is flawed that's all I'm telling you you can judge him how you want but those words above do not describe what he actually was those numbers are incredible and I wanna hear how he was in the playoffs we keep hearing that about all our quarterbacks this is a team game but as an individual player as a undrafted raw free agent he started off good and they became great where is all this slow process you think you remember why him sitting on the bench for two years again no different than Jordan love or other guys who have had to wait but when he got his chance he made the best of it.. And by the way by NFL standards he did not have a shortened career could have been longer sure but he had a great career..

Romo should not have been the holder but that did t cost us the game if Seattle goes three and out we had time for a field goal but defense could not stop the run.

yeah there were other things too, like the fiasco in the end zone on a pass that somehow was a safety.
The cowboys defense was ok, but they could not hold them at end.
That was a good game though, I have it and watch it every few years.

Tony NoMo

 :muttley:

meh... it reminds me this guy, the difference is that Tomo's reel is for his career lowest moments, the video below is just 3 seasons of the guy that was suppose to replace him and do better... take us to the SB. blah blah blah..

Romo was the only reason we were in that game late. It wasn’t his fault we lost and it was insane to have your starting qb as the holder. I believe the Wade Phillips 13-3 team that Parcells built was our best chance at playing in the nfc championship game in the past 29 seasons. That team had a Super Bowl roster on both sides of the ball and then we lost to the Giants in the WC round.

Divisional. Dallas owned the NFC's overall #1 seed and skipped the first round.
