TLH: Cowboys Rumors, plan for Pollard and Zeke is the worst-case scenario

I think if they keep Zeke it's just 100% co formation that Jerry doesn't care about winning. They should understand the potential effect something like this could have in fans. If we believe that they truly aren't trying to win why would we continue to support with our $$?

The Cowboys could very well cut Zeke. If they tag Pollard and draft a good back. They will cut Zeke and keep Davis.
I personally see this as the most likely scenario this off-season.

I have to admit, I am a little disturbed by the Zeke hate. I fully agree he's lost it, but I don't understand the vitriol towards him. I just don't get it. He's here one more year tops, be happy about what he did for us when he was prime.

I just don't get how he could have lost his burst at 23. That makes no sense to me. He must have just let himself go after getting paid. But he's a Cowboy, so I still like the dude. I hold more ill will towards Diggs for making business decisions during a divisional playoff game.
IMHO Fat Zeke held out, got paid then packed it in. Pretty much the classic example of the modern athlete. I do not blame them. The money is much more important than the winning. I get that but I am a fan. The money means nothing to me. The winning is everything. Fat Zeke is a turd who stands in the way of winning. I can not support that.

I can't see how we justify keeping Zeke. He has no burst left. We could draft a RB in the mid rounds and replace his production as a back up and move on from him.
And to restructure is even dumber

Seems like the logical move. Zeke has lost a step, is expensive and for what he brings over a full season, fairly easy to replace. You Jerry won’t do it lol

LOL I am not a Zeke apologist but i dont think he packed it in.He just hit the running back wall that all RBs do he just hit it fast. His running style led to alot of contact which has taken a toll on his body. I blame Jerrys dumb arse for caving to his demands. You dont pay a RB that kind of cabbage. Contrary to what a few folks here tell you RBs are a dime a dozen and there are several RBs that could have done what Zeke did early in his pro career. We had the best line

Cue the whining

Would i keep Elliott if he restructures? Yes

Would i be mad if he was let go? I love Elliott but he's past his prime but he can still get you 800-900 yards as RB2

Should they possibly let both go and rock with Malik Davis and a proven RB in free agency (not premier but proven) yes thats great as well

all options work imo its however they want to go
Thank you for this.

Can';t for the life of me figure out why people are still interested in discussing this. How many "curbstomp zeke NOW" replies can people possibly make?

Infinite, apparently.

It's good to see some levity now and then.

I wished we hadn;t asked him to do so much blocking. If we had only treated him like an elite RB, he might still be one.

Cutting Zeke would be an admission of a mistake. Jerry would rather hurt the team than admit he screwed up again. This franchise is a joke.

I wouldn't bet on that if I was you.

perhaps steve but he has alot of carries under his belt. Since 2014 he had no less than 231 carries and the type of running he does wears on you.

The only reason IMO to keep Zeke is he's a good blocking RB in passing situations but it's time to move on. Zeke, thanks for the memories.

Yes i get it. But he had to do a ton of brutal blocking. Not just an occasional safety blitz. Bssically getting trucked by d line - lbers....and having to stand your ground. Running with the ball...HE gets to truck.

Big difference.

I think we've taken that for granted....some even ridicule him for it. "Glorified overpaid fb".

Having said that....go to another team. Dont finish out here...like this.

I think youre right he is probably another player that has been under appreciated he did alot in a short period of time. But its time to move on in my opinion . at this point hes a progress stopper here as Pollard is much more effective. well see what the front office does. I think they are going to restructure his numbers so he remains a cowboy.

The worse case than that is that he does care about winning and he somehow thinks that keeping Zeke achieves that. It would be further evidence that he is a fool instead of a con man.

Just so you know, I was not for paying him when he held out. I was against it.
