good for Ravens. what a scumbag.
I was, too.
Peter King basically hinted at is as such when the story first happened.
And we knew that there was extra tape that showed her hitting them.
That's why I came on here and talked about horrendous the penalty was compared to Josh Gordon (who appears to have just caught secondary pot smoke). People tried to defend Goodell and the penalty, but it was presented as Goodell having seen the entire tape. And I was told (can't remember from whom) that the tape of her being punched by Rice was just as bad as it actually looks. And I had idiots here claiming you don't know that Rice actually punched her. Yeah...she just happened to be knocked out and was violently dragged out of the elevator for no reason and the DA tried to prosecute him for no reason.
Good grief.

It the news comes out that he knew the full details about exactly what happened, I agree.Honestly, Goodell should step down immediately, a 2 game suspension is a disgrace. He saw this video ahead of time and Rice should not have seen the field this year or maybe even ever.

Anyone who is okay with Josh Brent being back on this team and are cheering for Ray Rice being terminated is the very definition of a flagrant hypocrite.
Nope. Completely different circumstances.
No it's not, both were drunk and both did stupid things.
Also, they were bipeds. Will the similarities never cease?
The things they did were different. The intentions were different. The consequences for the parties involved were different. The legal ramifications were different. The complicity of the parties involved was different. The league suspensions were different. In short, the events were different. So it's possible to feel one way about one event and another about the other without being a hypocrite in any way, but less being the very definition of a flagrant hypocrite.
I don't think it was ever a contested fact that he punched her in the elevator. The original video saw him dragging around her unconscious body. She stated that he punched her. The new tape does not provide any additional facts. Instead, it makes visceral what we already knew--he punched her out in the elevator.
The NFL's backpeddling. The Ravens cutting Rice. These are just PR moves at this point.
The bottom line is this, the Ravens released Rice, probably moreso because of the outrage from the public, but he was released nontheless. Josh Brent has missed a lot of time basically because of legal issues, had it not been for the legal troubles that he was in, there is no doubt that Brent would have played last year for the Cowboys. That wasn't Josh Brent's first time or second time, this is a pattern for him and when he gets caught drunk driving again, people like you will still be defending him. Hopefully next time, he doesn't kill another person.
Yes, let's hope Josh Brent doesn't have any more issues. But it doesn't change the fact that his situation is very very different from the Ray Rice situation.
We can agree to disagree.
The two things are in no way similar. They are apples and oranges. The only thing similar is that both were bad decisions (putting it lightly). I'm not arguing for or against, but Josh Brent didn't want to hurt or kill anyone.
How did I take this long to notice the Sk*ns logo on your avatar? I gather that's RGIII?
Well...we can agree that you're just wrong about the hypocrisy thing...no matter what you may feel about Josh Brent.
In any event, I'm glad Ray Rice got the boot.
