And we knew that there was extra tape that showed her hitting them.

That's why I came on here and talked about horrendous the penalty was compared to Josh Gordon (who appears to have just caught secondary pot smoke). People tried to defend Goodell and the penalty, but it was presented as Goodell having seen the entire tape. And I was told (can't remember from whom) that the tape of her being punched by Rice was just as bad as it actually looks. And I had idiots here claiming you don't know that Rice actually punched her. Yeah...she just happened to be knocked out and was violently dragged out of the elevator for no reason and the DA tried to prosecute him for no reason.

I don't recall any single poster on this board defending Goodell and the penalty he imposed on Ray Rice. Everyone thought it was too lenient and that was before anyone saw this video. I have not seen the video by the way. I don't want to see it.

I don't think it was ever a contested fact that he punched her in the elevator. The original video saw him dragging around her unconscious body. She stated that he punched her. The new tape does not provide any additional facts. Instead, it makes visceral what we already knew--he punched her out in the elevator.

The NFL's backpeddling. The Ravens cutting Rice. These are just PR moves at this point.

I wonder how different this would have been had Rice produced a good season last year. He rushed for 660 yards and averaged 3.1 yards per rush in 2013.

Honestly, Goodell should step down immediately, a 2 game suspension is a disgrace. He saw this video ahead of time and Rice should not have seen the field this year or maybe even ever.

The things they did were different. The intentions were different. The consequences for the parties involved were different. The legal ramifications were different. The complicity of the parties involved was different. The league suspensions were different. In short, the events were different. So it's possible to feel one way about one event and another about the other without being a hypocrite in any way, much less being the very definition of a flagrant hypocrite.
