TNew says lots of blame to go around

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Has he even visited another team since being cut?

Why did someone else on the team maul Brandon marshall on national television ?

What did anyone think he was going to say? What would anyone say in the same situation?

This is not news.. especially with Florio taking something he said and trying to twist it into something else. Come on, now..

Long term quality starters on the Cowboys are not rubbish.

“I didn’t play well down the stretch but I think we also didn’t play well down the stretch. *Great teams know the blame is on everyone and accept that,” Newman told WFAA, via the Dallas Morning News. *“In spite of the criticism I endured, we endured, we still could have put a lot of things together.”

I know we all want to hate him for not meeting some of our expectations, but I have a hard time finding anything objectionable here.

The Cowboys dumped cornerback Terence Newman this week. Newman, whom many thought would be cut before the 2011 season, has received plenty of blame for the team’s struggles last season.

He thinks the blame should go more broadly than that.

“I didn’t play well down the stretch but I think we also didn’t play well down the stretch. Great teams know the blame is on everyone and accept that,” Newman told WFAA, via the Dallas Morning News. “In spite of the criticism I endured, we endured, we still could have put a lot of things together.”

Newman specifically pointed to the Patriots as a team that thrived despite having a bad secondary.

So, basically, Newman thinks that if the rest of the team were a lot better, it would make up for the fact that he wasn’t good enough.

That’s not exactly the best way for Newman to say hello to the free-agent market.

I agree a bit with Newman in that he wasn't the only reason we collapsed the way we did.

Ryan blitzed way too much and left our suspect secondary exposed too much.

Garrett made some really boneheaded decisions as well.

But Newman was one of the biggest problems we had last year.

When our inside coverage rotated to double the streaking tight end? That play?

The fact that he is basically saying that it didn't matter if he was horrible because others were also and that we shouldn't even need the D to play well because of what the Pats did...

HaHa - you still wanna debate me on this finger pointer? top 10 worst Cowboy big contracts - terrible football player.

Softer then Deion Sanders.

All he said was admitting that he played bad, but that the entire D played bad down the stretch as well.. what's the problem with that?

Go back to sleep.

What a bum. If this guy can sit down and watch film of himself from the past two years and tell me he should still be playing in the NFL with a straight face, he should have gone into politics instead of being a professional athlete.

Yeah, I don't think that's what he's basically saying at all.

That's not all he was saying. He was saying he was bad but so were others. He was trying to justify his being horrible.

Yea.. you just repeated what i said there, lol.

That's exactly what he said.. and he's right. Moving on..

Not at all. He's saying that, despite criticism for not playing well, they still had an opportunity to put it together in the end and, as a team, they didn't get it done.

There's nothing to complain about here other than the fact that people don't like the player who was interviewed. Nothing.
