Have a feeling they got to his name and just said, 'No way am I voting for him.'

You know the scuttle-butt around the league was "Yeah, like I'd vote for #81." Laughter bursts forth.

I think it's pretty clearly a statement on their part, saying they're simply tired of his act. That you can't continually behave in such a weird manner and still be rewarded year after year.

He hasn't done anything jaw-dropping or team-tearing here, IMO. But he has been a constant annoyance in he news -- from riding the bike in Lance Armstrong gear to falling asleep in meetings to saying he tuned out Parcells.

I'd be highly surprised if any of the people voting really didn't believe he was PLAYING like a Pro Bowler. Have a feeling they got to his name and just said, 'No way am I voting for him.'

Good post and probably at the very least partially true.

With that said... IF he had caught the pass in Wash and the 4th and 1 against the Giants and we had won those games. I think even that(your) argument would not keep him out.

Are you challenging me to a grammar contest?

I knew it wasn't grammatically correct, I just didn't care.

Here I is.

Does TO deserve a Pro Bowl invite?

His stats = Yes

Fans = Yes

Players/Coaches = No

It's interesting that fans believed TO deserve to be a pro bowler but the coaches and players think otherwise.

Who's most important in that equation? Who pays the player salaries by lining the seats? It's the Fans.

I'll say again what I've said since the bean counters started tracking "dropped balls". The stat is completely subjective and is different relative to who spews the numbers. There is a perception that anything that is within arms reach of a receiver and he doesn't catch it...it's a drop. My point is even stuff thrown behind, low or in a position where his hands touch it but don't grab it is considered dropped. T.O. has certainly dropped passes I would like to think any receiver could catch, but I don't think there is alot more than really any other WR. I remember alot of guys on this board touting Keyshawn Johnson's ability saying " Key would never drop that, Key would catch that easy, etc, etc." Seemed to not show uop when he dropped several sure TD's, including against Dallas. Meaningless stat.

Totally meaningless since it is so subjective.

Plus he went from 12 after the Saints game to 15 after the Falcons.

I also think it is fair to take into consideration that he played two games with a broken bone in his hand, and 3 or 4 with tendon damage on his ring finger.

Well, I have no problem with Driver, Smith or Holt going. I do not believe that Boldin should be going but hey, that's the way it goes I suppose. Having said that, I don't think Owens deserves to go either. I agree with Wayne on this one. Owens is have a very good year. He may be injured but everybody is playing injured this time of year. That's the breaks.

If there is somebody who got the shaft on this deal, it's Roy Williams IMO. 2nd most yards, avg of 16.1 per (best of any of the top 10 WRs in the NFL), Plays with a crappy QB and he's not even the 1st alternate. That's pretty tough if you ask me. Boldin shouldn't be going but neither should Owens IMO.
