the problem with this argument is....ITS VERY SURFACE

You also have lost wittens production b/c he is being targeted by defenses, and Miles has done nothing since he has been targeted. Dont hate just to hate.

Excellent Point.

Is it just a coicedence that his numbers have declined while not having #81 drawing safety help?!?!

He had to leave, production or not. He started losing a step last year as well. He had the one big game versus the Niners when the defense decided not to cover him. I'm not saying he can't make plays, but he is no longer elite and the drama is not worth it. It is non issue any more.

TO losing a step at 36? Go figure.

Still with that lost step he can run by 95% of the DB's in this league. He isnt as explosive after the catch as 2001 but he still has excellent straightline speed and DC have to respect that. That is if of course you have a QB to throw him the ball.

Or you put double or press coverage on him, then he pretty much disappears, gets agitated if he does not get a catch early and then goes into a funk.

TO was no longer worth the aggravation and childish ways he is famous for. IF he was still producing at a high level, like the years before, than it would be a different story. He was not and therefore was just not worth it anymore.

He is gone.

Get over it.

Oh, almost forgot....Quinn is an overrated QB from ND...<evil music>

Just wondering as I don't have time to look it up. Who was our team leader last year in receiving TDs. When you get the chance, let me know.

Thanks.

Oh good Lord. Would all of you people just let it go already? TO is GONE. GONE. He isn't coming back. He's out of here. Nothing can be done about it. Continuing to beat your chest, or cry, or point out this or that on occassion is pathetic. Move on already.

Where were all you TO lovers the first 8 or 9 games of the season when TO was doing nothing? Now he has a great game and everyone who loved him is in here beating their chests as hard, and fast, as they can to say "See he's still great. He just has a bad team around him."

THe problem with that theory, folks, is that many of you who say that are also the same ones that claimed he was the only reason Romo was any good. So if TO is that darn great why isn't he making these other QBs look good, like he supposedly did with Romo?

I like TO. I think he's one of the best WR's to ever play. I still think he's a solid WR now. But for goodness sake let it go. What's done is done and it's not going to change no matter how hard you beat your chest or how much you cry about it.

SO we are no longer permitted on a football forum to discuss and compare WRs?

OK.

Did you have a chance to check that out for me yet? Who was it just last year? I'm curious.

I could be wrong but I think whoever it was, had more than twice the number than the closest one behind him. And more than the next three combined.

Though I could be wrong.

Can't wait for you to find out and let me know.

'preciate it.

TO did last year, last year TO was a cowboy, this year he is not.

However if you want to argue about this.

This year TO has a grand total of 2 TDs

Miles already has 6.

Furthermore...

Last year Tony Romo had 26 TDs.

This year so far...15.

Sure Tony missed some games last year, but even with that he is not far off the mark so we don't seem to be missing too many TDs in the passing department.

But at the end of the day, again, TO is not a cowboy, he is buffalo bill and no argument can change that.

GREAT Non-homer Post.

TO = Touchdowns.

Shame on Jerry for not thinking it through. Just look at skins game. Offense looked anemic.

The offense looked anemic against the Commanders last year with TO on the team.

The offense is ranked 14th in points and 5th in yards so far this year. They finished 2008 ranked 18th in points and 13th in yards.

Facts! Don't let them get in your way.

How would Roy react to catching a 98 yard touchdown? Oh yeah he can't catch tds over 2 yards.. Maybe he was happy that he scored? Stop making assumptions out of pure hatred. That's what losers do
I don't really care how Roy would react to catching a 98 yard TD especially when Roy isn't the topic and TO is. I would imagine Roy probably wouldn't hold his stupid index finger up at the 20 yard line like he is doing something special since he hasn't show that before, TO has.

You said if TO was still producing at a high level he would be worth the drama. And I agree. My point is that he was producing at a high level to the point of not only leading the team in in TD receptions, but doubling the nearest guy behind him.

You want to compare what TO is doing on a very mediocre team to what Roy is doing right now on the Cowboys.

You have to compare apples with apples.

This isn't about Roy vs. Miles. It's about Roy vs. TO. Because that was the spot that was made for Roy to be here.

TO was not producing at a high level, a high enough level to continue to put up with his childish attitude and ways...if he was, there would be no way Jerry would have been talked into letting him go.

Sorry, just the breaks.

TO had Two games all last year where he made it past 100 yards. I am not sure how that could be considered producing at a high level.

To was more of the problem than the solution last year. He was being FORCED the ball his way to feed his ego and try to prevent his tempers and still it was not enough for Jerry to keep him.

Again...the numbers this year, compared to last year do not lie.

If he was such a high level impact last year compared to this year than Romo's TD numbers should be dramatically reduced, the offensive numbers should be reduced...so far they are pretty much on par as last year without TO and with a crappy Roy Williams.

The reason I use Austin is, Austin has produced more than Williams so no matter if Roy (in his or jerry's mind) thinks he is the #1 WR, he no longer is on this team nor is he the best one currently on this team.

TO is gone, we have not missed TO according to the TD numbers or Offensive rankings.

Just the way it is.

Where TO is gone, others have been scoring. As a team we are not missing him, just some fans who do not look at things other than one player.

Furthermore the whole premise of this thread to start with is to show off a good day for owens. However it also ignores the rest of the year he is having. A great day for owens as a BILL and also to tout this guys unhealthy man love for ND QBs but that is another topic.

Why has this poster not went after every game and post TO's Stats...it is simple, because he has sucked this year. We did not seem to miss old TO when he was sucking for the bills. But oh he has one good game and we gotta bring up his great day.

Pretty transparent and silly and really for anyone to continue to defend that primadonna WR that is no longer with the team is silly.

But that is just one mans opinion.

Frankly what is silly is ignoring the impact of the team leading in touchdown receptions and writing it off as no big deal when you haven't been able to replace the production with his replacement.

Also claiming TO is having a bad year without noting the horrific team he is on is kinda short sighted.

Was TO a primadonna? Yep.
Was he annoying? Yep.
Was he correct with his complaints about the offense? Yep.
Did he lead the team in the stat that mattered most? Yep.
Was he worth the drama? Yep.

But because of a, by all indicators, asinine trade we now have another primadonna that is much worse than the previous one.

This one doesn't produce. And how has that production from Austin been working out the last 2 weeks now that the opponents are doubling Austin because they know RW can't catch?

See where I'm going with this?

We actually are getting the same TDs, just not from one person. The stats are grading out the same as has already been posted.

So you can say roy williams sucks, cause he does. You can say the trade for him sucks, cause it does.

However trying to make the case that we miss TO is wrong because we are still getting about the same production. The TDs are on pace for about the same as last year and the Offensive rankings are actually better than last year.

TO is no longer with this team, other players have taken over for the production he had before...we are just relying on them as a team instead of trying to push it all on one player by forcing passes to him and then watching him throw temper tantrums and cause drama when those plays don't work.

TO is gone, it is good he is gone, that does not mean Roy Williams is good but it also does not mean it is bad that TO is gone.

There is a huge difference between comparing WRs and basically crying about one being cut, after the only good game he's had all year, and I think you know that.
