The team is 7-3 after losing their QB for four games, and which responded to a beat down last week in dominating fashion, against a team that was set up perfectly to feast against the Cowboys defensive weakness and the coaching is getting shade today?

I agree they did the right thing for most of the game but parsons sitting for 2-3 series after a near knee injury and limping, should never had come back in..

however, i bet he grabbed his helmet ran out there with MM knowing it. that on this defensive coaches not hiding his helmet. he should not have gone back in given his last month of dings and max snaps with game coming in 3 days and with a limp. thats the issue, if he didn't Knick his knee and not having a game 3 days later, i would have been cool with him padding stats,

in this case, Parsons should never had been allowed to re-enter the game.

As I understand it, he insisted upon returning and was given allowances to return. Nobody knows a guy's limitations more than himself.

To Mike McCarthy.... Get your head out of your backside and grow a pair...... When the game is in hand TAKE OUT AS MANY STARTERS AS YOU CAN (ie.. Parsons) AND DO NOT ALLOW PLAYERS TO STAY IN THE GAME FOR SELFISH (STATS) REASONS.... THIS IS DANGEROUS AND ONE OF MANY CULTURE/ATTITUDES PREVENTING THIS TEAM FROM ADVANCING!!!!

Did the same thing last season when playing the Eagles last game of the season and allowing ZEKE to play (for stats) with a screwed up knee... instead of resting him up for the next game (kind of important game against the niners in the playoffs)....

Playing with Fire here.... Trust me ... its going to bite us eventually.....
I was really unhappy with this situation as well.
The players should not be calling the shots, the HC should.
Totally inexcusible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude it’s so true. I have a bunch of close friends who all think McCarthy sucks.

I tell them his career record. His accomplishments. His superbowl win. His 4 NFC title game appearances. His playoff record.

And still they all think he is overrated.

I just don’t get it man. McCarthy has a legit chance to be in the hall of fame. Especially if he gets the cowboys to at least an NFC title game. Yet people still think is stinks.

it just makes no sense.
3 wins away from being the first coach to lead us to back to back double-digit win seasons since barry switzer in 95-96

He is a great coach

Not really,
old adage applies, " coaches must protect payer from himself".

Parson was stat padding on a bad wheel with a game in 3 days, thats the issue we are discussing, this isn't 10 off scenario or regular 7 days,

we ARE playing the NYG for 2nd place in 3 days. He obviously was dinged and should NOT have been allowed back in. hes type of player that needs to be carried off each game and has to be protected from himself. hes the opposite of Woods lo, the no way to ay 100% all 60 snaps. MP does and needs to be forced to rest. It apparent that Parson situation is similar to the way Landry limited TD33 snaps to keep him fresh and extend his career.. sometimes coach has to notice how tired and how many games a player is limping off the field and cashed out , which has been many games this year for MP.

I luv his motor but i want him to have long career.

I think McCarthy and Quinn have been coaching long enough to tell when a player is limping or not. He was momentarily limping and recovered. We, as fans, aren't privy to seeing the players up close and personal enough to tell what his exact situation happens to be. I'll trust their best judgments. Micah returned like gangbusters and showed no signs of hurting. I can fully appreciate your concern, however.

Thank you for your quick response and clarification on Parsons status coach Mike. Some of us fans were really worried you are going to continue to allow players to put personal goals/stats above the team objective (winning a championship). We can all sleep better tonight...

Thanks for your confidence. I've long believed in treating previously injured players with proceeding by erring on the side of caution. Many of the smartest coaches and players respect that policy in their staff. Those who don't often have to pay the price of their failures to adhere to that idea. I have personally played for a coach who didn't respect his players' injuries and removed myself, quickly, from being involved with him and his team. That wasn't easy. o_O

Even if there was no injury, the less stress and more rest before the next game, the better. No need to wear himself out when the game was well in hand.

Micah is a different breed than the average guy. As I understand it, he was adamant about returning when he did. He finally came around and returned to the bench, as a precaution. A bit later than some liked, possibly, but I'm betting he'll be back just fine next Thursday. At least, let's hope so.

C'mon man, you know the posters here are all better coaches than McCarthy (or whoever is coaching here).... Just ask them.

Using all caps makes people appear to be morons like Skip Bayless...

If you want people to take you seriously, don't use all caps. Use the bold feature if you want to emphasize a point.

His competitive nature may be overruling his sense of self preservation. Also, his youth makes him feel invincible. He probably doesn't consider longevity, when he's playing.
