Owens privately discussed the offense with Jason Garrett and Ed Werder got wind of that information from one player who didn't (and never did) like Owens and went to town. And secondly, Romo was joking. How does that "put Owens in his place?" Romo, Owens, and Witten all knew it was BS.
First, it's pretty well known that Owens anointed himself as savior of every team he played on. That would tend to grate on his teammates after a while. For you to try and say that he was some sort of a choirboy is ridiculous.
Second, there is one poster on here who likes to portray that he has inside access to the team who claims that "no one was happier than Romo that T.O. was gone". Hmmmmmm....
