Depends on the progress he makes, but I'd like the Cowboys to see what they have in Devin Street. You're about to pay Dez and you've paid Cole Beasley (even if modestly), at a certain point you can't keep piling on the investments to the WR position.

Street hasnt gotten a fair look yet, in my opinion. I think Street gets an increased role over the next 2 years to see whether or not resigning Williams is a priority.

Are people expecting him to come into the league as a beast? Last season was only his 2nd and he was only a 3rd round pick. Did we forget Dez Bryant didn't see 1,000 yards until his 3rd season either? He didn't come into the league beating and he was a 1st round pick. I think Williams is gonna have his breakout year this season

I think you are hoping for to much bro.....

Never know bro. Dez never sniffed 1000 yards before his third year, so we can't say for sure that T will won't be his breakout year as well. typically wide receivers do it in their 3rd year

If he were to breakout that would help out a lot. It would give us 3 legitimate targets. With an average running game that would carry this team quite a long way.

he has more long runs after catch for td's than dez? Dez seems to catch all td passes in the endzone, padded by the 1 yard fade td's.

I'm sure Street's performance will play a part in this and how much we offer.

yes, im hoping Street surpasses T Will. Nothing agianst T Will, but if he can be replaced, lets just do it with another younger player.

Pay him what he's worth.

He's not a rare talent and shouldn't cost that much. If his demands are too high, let him go.

I don't think he will see a second contract in Dallas, although I could be wrong. There are too many people to pay on offense. Frederick, Martin, Dez, etc.

You can't have high priced people at every spot.

Dallas has been really good drafting since 2010, so they just need to draft them a second WR if Street isn't it, and groom him to be ready. That's what good drafting teams have to do with the salary cap.

Of course if Williams takes something very reasonable, then he still might stay in Dallas.

#2 receivers are easier to find. I do not see him getting 2nd contract from Dallas, especially if he is led to believe he can be a #1 in the league.

I think it will take an injury to Dez for him to "break out" With the way our offense is, a #2 isnt likely to get more then 50 catchs. Maybe 60 if we throw more this year. Williams has a knack for scoring and making clutch plays. Im a bit worried about his dry spell the second half of the season. It lasted pretty long. But a player that is capable of putting 6 in the board is gonna get attention from defenses.

As far as resigning him. I dont think we will. I dont think its a position we are going to invest that kind of cap in (when you consider Dez's $) If he doesnt take a leap and is a 4 million $ a year WR, maybe. I have a feeling we are going to draft someone in the first 3 rounds next year to take his spot in 2017. Or at least it maybe smart. Let them have a year to adjust to the NFL

Williams has already provided great value from the pick used on him. He was the starting #2 as a rookie.

He is unlikely to ever have big stats considering that the TE is #2 on this team.

I do think they would like to get him more rest this year if Street can take a few of his snaps. They basically run him ragged with constant deep and intermediate routes.

And there's Cole Beasley, too.

He was largely ignored on offense until the final third of the season and still tied Terrance Williams in receptions.

Beasley should surpass him this season and may even challenge Jason Witten for second place behind Dez Almighty.

Beaz has also already signed a long term extension with the team through 2018.

Yes, much of it is dependent on how they use the players. Beasley could have better stats, but he can't play Williams' position.

In the Cowboys offense, they want the #2 receiver to have good size and speed and their primary job is to clear out things for Dez, Witten and the slot WR as well as run off and/or block defenders in the running game.

Williams actually showed excellent quickness and ability on some short/quick routes on the limited opportunities that he received. I remember a smoke route that Romo threw to him even though the CB was not playing very far off the line and Williams showed excellent quickness to catch the ball and beat the CB that was right in his face.

I realize that Dez is way better.

But Williams is yet another long list of examples proving that you can plug WRs into this offense with this QB and get good production.

On a per target basis, his production is almost identical to Dez'
