TO Poll... your age and approval or disapproval

Just turned 40 and I'll withhold my judgement until it is warranted.

I wasn't for the signing, not sure if I like it anymore today, but I hope it works out in the long run.

45 and not in favor of it

Hopefully it will turn out OK since he is now part of my favorite team :star:

here we go wit the deion/TO thing.

neither player has done ANYTHING off the field except talk to the media.

BIG DEAL.

Yeah, its no bid deal, they cause problems within locker room. Heck with team concept.

I think the age group you are looking for to not approve, is more in their late 40s to early 60s. It seems they have most of the varnished clarity.

My opinion is really based on whether this team needed him moreso than his off-field incidents. Yeah he brings alot of talent, but were the 'boys really one player away that we needed him? I don't know.

If your opinon is not based on his off the field incidents and just wheather the team needed him, then you should approve. Why wouldnt we need a top 3 WR on the team? We havent had a go to guy since Mike.

I agree we werent one play away but we just didnt sign one player. I think the Vandy signing was huge. Akin and Fabini were solid as well. You cant tell about the draft until they step on the field but it looks pretty good so far.

The ones who cant get over the Star thing, give it up. People act like he actually to a dump on it. Teague to care of it. Besides if Teague or any other of the DB's that day would have took care of covering him we wouldnt even be talking about the Star thing.

What kind of a poll is this ?

Over 30 or under 30 ?

How conclusive can that be ?

What will the results tell us ?

I'm 52, and if Parcells is on board with TO, (which he says he is) then I am on board with TO.

I wouldn't want him here if Parcells was not here, but I think Parcells and Terrell will get along just fine.

17 dissaprove.
im sorry but unless he wins us a superbowl i'll never root for the player who ive always hated more then anyone.

I'm not saying... Cuz ladies aren't supposed to. :)

But I can unequivocally say without a shadow of doubt that I'm on the fence...

I'm not angry about the Star incident...at least not anymore. They should've kept him out of the end zone. And I think Teague properly defended it at the time.

I think there was more to the story in Philly than what was reported. He's still got friends in SF, so I can't imagine it was all him there, too. Will we see the same BS here in Dallas. I hope not. He's got the money he always wanted, so what next?

My opinion is really based on whether this team needed him moreso than his off-field incidents. Yeah he brings alot of talent, but were the 'boys really one player away that we needed him? I don't know.

Good post. This sort sums up my feelings, particularly as it relates to the Star incident. You don't want him dancing, don't let him score.

I was against the TO signing at first, but now that he's a Cowboy, I've settled into him being here and am less against it now.

It's out of my hands so why not cheer the team. I don't think I'll ever be a TO fan, but I will be a fan of the Cowboys, and he's on the team so ....

Oh, I'm 42.

2. In Philly they were paying him like a top 50 WR... not a top 5.

i have a question and a comment, asthma- first, as far as what he got paid, he got 10 mil guaranteed (5 mil more than the cowboys gave him) as part of a 42 million dollar deal from the eagles. this article sums up my point that i dont think he was underpaid-

"The league source the says the current Eagles deal is fair to both sides. In fact the official said the Eagles' deal at the time made Owens the highest paid receiver in the game over the first three years of the contract.
"The Eagles structured the deal in such a way that instead of giving him a large signing bonus, they gave Owens a very large roster bonus which can not be spread out over the length of the contract or the five-year limit now in effect in the NFL," the official said. "The Eagles considered it a market-value roster bonus for a Pro Bowl receiver combined with a signing bonus made it a really generous, nice signing bonus that makes them pay (big) in the third year. It is structured in a way that they have to pay him a lot. They have him for two then they have to pay him again in the third year. He doesn’t like that now."
In 2004, the official - who has access to the actual contract - said Owens received a $6.2 million roster bonus, a $2.3 signing bonus and $660,000 in base salary for a total of $9.16 million. In 2005 he is scheduled to make a salary of $3.25 million. In 2006 Owens is scheduled to collect a $5 million roster bonus, a base salary of $770,000 and a $2.5 million option that will make the deal for that year worth $8.27 million.
The total value of the first three years of his contract is $20.68 million. Since he signed the deal The Indianapolis Colts inked their star receiver, Marvin Harrison to a seven-year deal worth a reported $67 million with $22 coming in the first three years. The former Roman Catholic star is scheduled to receive a $10 million roster bonus in year two.
Randy Moss notwithstanding, Owens and Harrison are arguably the two best receivers in the game and over the next three years will be paid as such.
"I don’t think there is anything in that deal that takes advantage of the player in anyway," the official said. "When you analyze deals you look at the guaranteed money which is the signing bonus, roster bonus…you look at the first three years and then you might look at the overall average of the deal. But it’s the first three years which is key. There is only one deal which is better than the Terrell Owens deal in the first three years and that’s Marvin Harrison. And it was done after (Owens’ deal) was done. So what does he want?"

second, do you really think the eagles drama was about money? do you think it may have involved calling out his QB?

even if it was about the money, owens didnt have to sign the contract in the first place. he wanted to play with mcnabb, and he got paid nicely to get exactly what he wanted. but even if the deal was not to his liking, he should not have signed it if he felt he would be underpaid.

dont mean to change the topic, which is a good one. just askin.

I disputed for 4 pages of a thread before the signing on why I did not want him here. But, now that he is here, what can I do about it? I 'll say one thing. He better shut his freaggin mouth and produce. :banghead:

Soon to be 37 and approve.
Disapprove of being lumped into a 31-99 category. Makes me feel really old!

How anyone can dissaprove of this is beyond me.

To win the Superbowl you have to be the one of the very best teams in the league or the Steelers.

To field the field one of the very best teams you have to be both good and lucky. But probably more so, you have to be willing to take risks. You can't just take all the chalk picks in both the draft and FA, and expect to stand out. It's just not that realistic.

I think we all can agree here that if TO didn't have off the field issues he
would never have been allowed to leave either SF or Phila.

He's one of the most valuable players in the league and if this gamble pays off, it could very well help us win the next Superbowl.
If it doesn't pay off, we won't.

However, I wouldn't have put money on us winning one of the next Superbowls without TO anyway......so......I DON'T SEE THE RISK!

You know someone did this exact thing a little while ago? That's what I was saying. i dont think it was anything real conclusive.
Yup, the results look to be about the same. This time, though, much more people approve. Still, the age split was identical, meaning there is no correlation, much less causal link, between approval and age.

40 and disapprove, seeing the footage of him at the San fran practice going" yeah team, way to go" mocking the situation. I dont like him and never will! I will state the obvious that he is a superior athelete throughout his career, to bad he's a ME player

Same age and sentiment.

I think we all have 1 thing in common and that is to see this franchise back at the top. Where we differ is how you get there. If this TO situation ends up being 1 year and then a big blowup then in my book it is a failure, if he can keep himself under control and last the entire length of the contract and or possibly extend the deal then this will be a great situation for this team. I think the ball is in TO court what he does with this opportunity is all on him.
