to put it bluntly Petiti needs to be benched

There is must as much frustration for me over Peterman not getting on the field yet. Rivera got owned today.

Old Buddy Which OL didn't?

Yes bench him, also is Bledsoe keeps playing the same way. Bench him too.... I know it is not always his fault. But the O-Line isn't throwing the ball to the ground or over thrown.

all you have to do is to get peterman in there and put LA at LT...move tucker to RT that was LA is on the left and rivera is on the right...i guarantee you he can handle the position and peterman will play better at LG than PEtiti can play at RT right now...that is if you dont like the columbo situation

It is the fat 5 in front of him not doing their jobs, particularly our RG and RT. Tucker did better than Walter Jones against Umenioria. Rivera and Pettiti were getting blown up both in the passing game and the running game. If Rivera keeps struggling why not try something different? This is a team sport so if the QB sucks we all suck, if the crappy RG or RT allow a sack we still suck no matter what round you were drafted in or how much you are paid. There really must be a reason why the coach has you starting.

Hard to bench someone...when the backup is not ready or any better at THIS time.

Now later who knows.

I'm sure if our other tackles knew the offense decently Petitti would be on the bench.

Think about it, he's doing WORSE then Tucker did last year. I think if he continues to struggle we'll see Columbo. Probably another two games.

QBs usually play poorly when they aren't protected.

We protect Bledsoe (w/o having to keep 2 or 3 in to help) then he'll be fine. Period.

Honestly I think all of you "nay sayers", need to give the rookies a break.

Bledsoe was hearing footsteps. He felt pressure even when there was none. He looked downright horrible today, throwing balls into the dirt, releasing the ball too late and throwing to no one in particular... etc.

Enough with the "rookies" crap. They've played 12 games, they arne't "rookies" anymore.

And if Petitti were showing signs of improving, I'm sure he would be given a break. But he's regressed if anything.

If Dallas can't do better than 2-2 they don't really deserve to be in the playoffs. If they get their act together and go 3-1, they are in.

LOL...where was this defense for Tucker last year.

Transparent.

Ayuh.

And this "Who isn't sucking on the OL?" bit isn't a defense.

So they all suck.

Great.

That means they all need to be replaced.

Petitti included.

We don't have to cut the guy. But the type of performance we are getting from him is simply not acceptable. Nor from Tucker. Nor from Rivera. Nor from the Center Combo.

But it would be an idiotic move to simply hand Petitti the job next year because he's "expected to improve," or something. We have to operate under the assumption that Petitti hasn't been good enough to start for us, and that if he can take the job from a draft pick or FA signing, good for him.

Our rookie wouldn't be starting if we had someone better. It's a bit unfair for a lot of us to have had such high expectations for a 6th round rookie. He clearly is nowhere ready to handle the starting tackle position.

I would hope we look for a veteran tackle during FA and in the draft. If either of the two tackles can turn it around, then we can finally have quality depth for once.

Or maybe we should expect him to struggle now and again...sometimes more other times less.

But then again...was it not an All pro, considered one of the best in the game, OTs having similar problems last week vs the giants DE's?

Not making an excuse for Petitti...but man alive he is a rook and he was not considered an elite rook.

He has, and will struggle.

To have great expectations on him to not struggle and have bad games...is at the least unrealistic.

He shouldn't be starting. Plain and simple. Parcells put him in this position, and he is doomed for failure. He should be an understudy at this point.

I just have a problem with the free ride Petitti has gotten in this forum. Some of those that are giving him a free ride don't even watch the game, and claim that he is doing great. This is the part that gets me.

Petitti has been a liability all year long, and this is the truth. But I do not place all of the blame on him. I think Parcells should be blamed more than Petitti.

After watching these last few games, I have come to a realization.

This team is a good team. We've got a great defense. We've got talented running backs. We've got a good quarterback. We've got offensive weapons.

What we lack?

An offensive line.

It all comes down to the offensive line. Torrin Tucker is trash, and Rob Pettiti is a complete and utter bum. With these two at offensive tackle, this team is shackled to mediocrity. Tucker and Pettiti are both simply bums who will never amount to anything in the NFL. Sad but true.

I would be the happiest Cowboy fan on the planet if Bill Parcells pushed those two out of the team plane Harrison Ford style.

"Lookit, get off my plane."

funny post.

I do agree with this. My question deals with the rookies hitting the "rookie wall" about this time of the year. Might be that Petitti is running low on gas.

I actually think Petitti is worse than Tucker was as a rookie when he got a few starts with Ryan Young's condition.

I don't really have super high hopes for the kid. He seems not to have improved during the year very much.

Tucker actually looks like he can be a serviceable backup at RT and LT but he shouldn't be starting.
