T.O. left Philly in 2005. They didn't make the playoffs that year with all the turmoil on that squad, produced largely by T.O.

They made the playoffs the next year, even after McNabb injured himself. And - get this - won a playoff game against the Giants before losing to the Saints. This all WITHOUT T.O.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys made the playoffs in 2006, but they were won and done WITH T.O.

The Eagles didn't make the playoffs last year. But they were hot down the stretch. And they made the playoffs this year.

I think it's a stretch to say it took them a LONG TIME to recover without T.O.

It only took less than a year, and one could argue T.O.'s meltdown in Philly caused Philly to get off track for that season.

Yes its TO's fault they didnt throw it to him with Pete Hunter on him. The more you talk the dumber you sound.

Sorry....Im not a big fan of TO....but to me....he is one of the few who cares about winning on this team. Sure he complains....sure he acts it up on the sidelines. But he causes no problems off the field.....is a terrific worker in practice....and wants to win.......... So he wears his emotions on his sleeve....big deal.

I wish more on this team would do that.

I love T.O. I lipread him on the sidelines, and he is the one player who really cares about the team's success. In the first half today, I saw T.O. yell give the man time in the pocket. He's always bringing fiery emotion to the games. He runs his routes well, he occupies two defenders, he plays hard. That's all you can ask out of a player.

And you guys are idiots. Occupying two defenders is a thing only a few wide receivers do in this league - Randy Moss, T.O., Plaxico, and a few others. If it wasn't for T.O. constantly occupying the safety over the top, Witten would not be as good as he is. Further, if you can't get other receivers open when 2 defenders are assigned to one player, your offensive coordinator sucks. Enough said. One only has to look at last year's Patriots. The ONLY reason they lost was not because their receivers couldn't get open but because the Giants pass rush dismantled them. Even when Romo has time, its rare to see receivers open unless they are freelancing.

Who cares about a lousy playoff win.....really...

Teams next week will be home.....and they wont be any better off then us.

All that really matter is a SB.

TO showed up in that SB and made a great comeback from injury. McFlabb choked and they didnt get their ring.

Burress was fined over 50 times with the Giants.......he was a locker room cancer....yet they still won a SB.

IMHO...if you dont win that SB.....then you are no better then a last place team....in fact....u might be worse off...seeing how the worst team gets a better draft pick :)

JMHO :)

If you actually could read, since it double posted for some reason instead of editing, I clearly said that one man CAN make a difference.

I said the argument which you set up is baseless in reality. Get a clue, learn how to read, and stop obfuscating with your useless verbiage.

Wwwwooo obfuscating. Your dictionary is working overtime isn't it? ;)

Here, let me show you what a logical fallacy is, using your own words.

SultanOfSix said:
The argument is about doing more with or without TO you fool. One player can make a difference, but a football TEAM is bigger than one player. Thus, one player can or can't destroy a team.

First, if a player can make a difference, and a player is a member of a team, then one player can make a difference (good or bad) on a team.

How dumb do you have to be to offer an argument that contradicts your basic point?

You have NO IDEA what you're talking about, let alone a basic understanding of logic.

And what's so amazing is you can't see this.

Second, I did not say one player can "destroy" a team, whatever that means.

I said that T.O. represents a "selfish" "me-first" culture that permeates this team. He may not be the ONLY player who has this view. But he epitomizes it.

And, so far, it is true. Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear who hasn't be blinded by T.O.'s abs recognizes this.

How many other players who aren't the quarterback do you hear complaining CONSTANTLY that he's not getting the ball and in PUBLIC?

How many players not only complain about not getting the ball but have the position coach, the owner and the head coaching saying, "Yep, what he says it true"?

Pulease.

If you think I'm an idiot, that's fine. That's a huge compliment coming from a guy who contradicts himself in his very own argument.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, we're into the hypotheticals now. :lmao2:

If they would have thrown it to T.O., he would have helped us win.

If T.O. didn't hurt his little anky, we would have won last year.

You know your argument is weak when you reach for hypotheticals.

See, I don't have to do that.

Eagles without T.O. = four NFC Championship appears.

Eagles with T.O. = stat padding.

Dallas with T.O. = a quick exit from the playoffs and no playoffs.

I don't have to reach into the world of hypotheticals. LOL!

Now who's the dumb one? :lmao2:

Oooohhh, so now it's "who cares about a playoff win?" :lmao2:

Uh, tell that to the Cowboys who haven't won one in 12 years ... and counting.

You guys are funny.

And please stop with the Burress/T.O. comparisons. Burress has a Super Bowl ring and T.O. doesn't.

And Burress came to a team with veterans like Strahan and Toomer, guys who have played in a Super Bowl and a coach who has won playoff games and went to an AFC Championship Game. T.O. came to a young squad with no one to rein him in and an enabler as a coach who hasn't won anything in the postseason.

And, yes, playoff wins are big even if a team doesn't get to the Super Bowl. Why? Because it measures progress, and it gives you experience that you can win when it counts.

The Cowboys with T.O. have YET to show they can do that.

Uh, earth to I LOVE ME SOME ME!

Are you following the conversation? I wasn't speaking for myself. I was expanding on your argument, i.e., that the Cowboys didn't throw it to T.O. in the Seattle playoff game. The implication is that if T.O. had gotten the ball, the Cowboys would have won.

Yes, you need to be done. Go take a course in logic then get back with me. ;)

What else could it mean?

Why point to T.O. getting the ball more if it wouldn't have resulted in a win?

Or are you just happy with him collecting stats even if we lose?

It's called deductive reasoning. It's called common sense. It's called intelligence. It's called drawing a conclusion from a statement.

You guys make conversations difficult because your linear reasoning is skewed.

I hope Owens is gone.

Why? So teams can just focus on shutting down Romo's primary target in Witten. Then what? This offense would crumble down to rubble.......

And the Lions didn't win a single game this year with Calvin Johnson.

The actions of one player in a team sport like football are little more than the ripple from a pebble being thrown into an ocean.

Owens is one of the best players on the team and all indications are that the guys like him (not surprising to people who understand football...that it doesn't work like a soap opera, but rather a bunch of dudes in a locker room, who occasionally scuffle with each other and screw around a lot).

Didn't the Eagles do that today?

Blitzed Romo and took out Witten as the hot read.

What you do is you ride Felix, Barber and Choice. You play short passes and you take your shots to the wide receivers when necessarily. We still have Roy Williams and Clayton.

How is it that the Giants won with Burress sprinkled in with David Tyree and a dominating defense and we can't?

You don't need two elite receivers. You just need one good No. 1, a stout defense and a running game.

It's not rocket science. I mean who do the Vikings have at receiver? Who do the Eagles have at receiver? Who do the Dolphins have at receiver? Who do the Ravens have at receiver? Who do the Chargers have at receiver? Who do the Titans have at receiver?

Do you see the pattern? None of these teams have anywhere close to the elite receiver that T.O. is and yet they're in the playoffs.

I said it way back when Cowboys fans were clamoring for Mike Williams or a first-round draft pick as a receiver. Receivers don't necessarily win you championships. You win championships on the defense and offensive line of scrimmage, at running back and with a competent, bus driver as quarterback.

So the guys like him. Did they win for him? Did they win for themselves?

Who cares if they like him. Students like the class clown, but he aint gonna help them pass a course.

Players don't win FOR anyone.

If that were the case, Ray Lewis's teams would've never lost.

He has one ring, by the way. One.
