Here's a repeat post just for this thread....we lost, blame the backup QB for not throwing downfield.

Anyone notice that the winning QB didn't throw downfield either? Ryan--24 completions for 285; Weeden--22 completions for 232. The difference is Jones was open short and across the middle all game, and he has the skill to do something with those short receptions. Weeden was not the problem.

Weeden was the problem...jones for atl is a wr, he is suppose to get the ball..he has a qb that gets the ball to the wr..weeden didnt do that..all three yrd passes to backs..big difference....he could not keep the offense on the field long enough in the second half to give the D a rest after Atl.started stacking the line to stop the run...a good qb will make a team pay for stacking the line.....not weeden..

Pick your poison it's the worst of two evils.....Cassel keeps getting passed around team to team for a reason....look at Buffalo he couldn't beat EJ Manual and Tyrod Taylor.. Coaches have to figure this out...either Weeden or Cassel will QB this team for the majority of the year....Neither will win a game for you....but can they manage a game, or not lose the game is the question. I don't think Weeden lost the game today. He didnt play as bad as I thought he would (expected worse)...I just don't think the coaches made the right adjustments and opened up the offense in the second half...WHY They were coaching scared and not to lose.

Atlanta adjusted and the Cowboys didn't trust Weeden enough to open up the offense.

Weeden just sucks, so Cassel is an upgrade.

Cassel won 10 games for NE at least.

Weeden is limited, that is why they did not open the playbook.

True but thats no excuse..a good qb will make a team pay for stacking the line..Weeden could have jones and bryant..wont help him..he sucks..alot of qbs in the league dont have one reciever ranked in the top yet they still get the ball to recievers...he has a strong arm and nothing else..

Like who? Weeden is at best the 32nd best QB in the league. The only Qbs in the league who succeed without a legit wideout are hall of famers.

If our defense can't hold teams to under 28 points it won't matter what or who is playing qb. Heck we would be about a 500 team even with dez and tony with a defense that allows 28 pts per game

Like who? Weeden is at best the 32nd best QB in the league. The only Qbs in the league who succeed without a legit wideout are hall of famers.

Thats my point...weeden sucks..i dont even rank him 32nd...and he has decent recievers even without dez......all he looks at is rb's....and no you dont have to be hall of fame qb to suceed without a top wr....you have to have the ability to get them the ball and make smart decisions..things that weeden cant do....he should not be on an nfl roster....

Doesn't matter who starts if we continue to be so predictable than we won't be able to consistently run the ball.
