Tom Cable for OL coach?

For a time, the Seahawks lined up jags, and asked Cable to coach them up. Once that didn't work, they started to put resources into it - Justin Britt was a second round pick, Germain Ifedi was a first round pick, Luke Joeckel was once the second overall pick in the draft, and they traded for Duane Brown, a former Pro Bowler and first round pick himself. The line remained dreadful.

Some of it is a talent problem, no question. A lot of it is that Cable just isn't that good of a coach. Pass.
The "talent" they brought in there got him fired.

Funny how some coaches just seem to do better manufacturing things than taking good players and making them achieve.

We Don't? We have a young QB and if he's gonna be the one we have time. If he's not the one we have time
I'm glad you're so patient, I'm losing mine. Third year QB coming off a bad season needs to produce. He needs quality line play to do that.

Ok, if he's great, why is the SeaHawks O-line considered to be so bad? Poor talent? Drafting? Can we at least verify that Pollard is leaving before we start to pick successors. This guys name wouldn't be top on my list but that's just based on the quality of the Seattle's O-line. May have nothing to do with him as a coach at all. Or maybe it does. Buyer beware

They spent their money trying to keep the defense together and on the QB. They had to go short somewhere and the OL was the choice. I think I saw where they had the least amount of cap space dedicated to the OL.

mmmm sounds like us from 2010 to 2012 then we got smart and started to draft for the O-line. I'm still wondering how we have the worst coaches in the league and want everyone else's cast off coaches. Crazy no? Talent is the reason Seattles O-line is bad. Coaching is the reason our's dropped to 14'th. Just a bit crazy to me maybe

What aren’t you understanding? They don’t have a lot of talent and traded their best linemen for jimmy graham. We have the most talent / pedigree in the league

If there's no connection to Garrett, Linehan, Jerry or Stephen, move on. He's NOT an option.........

We are already set at that position. Colombo is gonna be a star.

Interesting. One team with the least amount, another with nearly the highest. Both 9-7. Who da thunkit. Put another way, one spent big on D the other on O, both 9-7. Where is the answer? 'd have to say don't neglect either

I like Cable. But I would rather go with Colombo. Like to see if he's got what it takes to move up the ranks

Having Colombo do it would be the same as what we did with Pollack in the first place. I'm tired of OTJ training for our coaches. Let's get someone in here that is experienced with skins on the wall.
