that's alot more then most of the players made for half a season back then.

Players got screwed back then. Duane Thomas said in an interview that he never made more than 25,000 per season with the Cowboys. He had to work a second job during the off-season. A lot of players did. Thomas hated Tex Shramm claiming he was a tight wad.
